sohc zc- higher horsepower version of our d16a6 here in the states-roughly 118hp?

dohc zc- 130hp dohc engine out of the 88-91 jdm civic/crx si and some jdm integras

Big plus is they are cheap, they bolt up without expensive custom mounts and need only minimal wiring changes to work. Assuming you don't have a DPI car in which case you have a lot more to do regardless of your swap.

sohc zc...maybe 1 or 2 horsepower more than an a6...dont let people tell you otherwise...they get power more from the ecu than anything. and the zc has a shorter gear ratio, so they are a little quicker than an a6

the doch zc has about 130 horsepower

while the newer zc vtecs have about 125 horsepower

i have a sohc zc. i bought my crx with it in. the guy said that he put in a newer "si" engine, but never told me it was a zc until i found out one day. would it be safe to say that he put in the sohc zc ecu when the work had been done? how to i find out...i've never even seen my ecu, i hear it's hiding under the passenger foot area somewhere?

hey y-49, i was at the honda-tech meet...the stunna with the white hatch? lol (not the tall guy with painted moldings, but the si)

all you do is pull up your passenger side carpet, and the ecu will be sitting right there. on the side there should be a barcode, with numbers above it.

the second set should sa PG7 if you have teh zc ecu (i think its PG7, it might be PM7)

but if it says PM6, then you just have the stock Si ecu

just to verify the coding with you guys. The PG7 is the 88-89 ecu which works fine with the zc and had a higher rev limiter at 7200 RPM, much better than the Si ecu. The PM7 is the zc ecu, obviously the best ecu for the zc motor

hey now, thats not too nice

i've changed my ways...im gettin better lol...

actually, the blingin chrome rims were on the car when i bought it...and they're gone..

anyways, there should be little tabs on the side where the carpet meets the space right in front of the door. they should pop out pretty easily, allowing you to pull the carpet up without ruining it.

i'll show you some pics of the hatch later, now thats its de-riceified.

and im working on gettin the camera to bust out pics of the zc vtec. RTErnie, racerj404, and kernalrice can testify to my zc vtec
