Changing water pump
What are some tests to see if my water pump is shot? I changed the radiator and it's still running hot. I didn't see any leaking under the pump, but will look again tommorow. Could it die without leaking through the weep hole?
Anyway, what are the steps to changing the water pump? Thanks.

basically you have to change the timing belt. the water pump is inside there and turned by the timing belt. we just did one only to conclude that the head is warped . did you drive it long while it was hot?
No, not to long. Stays cool on highway speed, then in stop and go traffic it acts up. It will sit in idle forever and not overheat though. I wish I knew a way to know for sure it was the water pump. I guess I'll have to do a compresison test first before I do anything.
if you do end up changing the water pump, count the teeth because i beat myself up because i did timing belt and water pump at the same time and thought they kept sending the wrong belt, little did i know my water pump had less teeth then the one that was on it so watch out for that
i beleive the right amount of teeth is 22? correct me if im wrong

Thermo is new, cap is new, radiator is new. I burped the system last night. Still runs hot. I hope it's not the head gasket, although I will have some free time coming up. Fan stays on until I get a thermo switch, it's bypassed now.
If I do a compression test and it comes back good, I can be safe in thinking it's the water pump don't you think?
