One more reason to buy Kuhmo tires...
are those good all weather tires? i need some new ones now that my michleins are going blader than my uncle. i just need something that grips good in the rain and dry weather and doesn't make a lot of noise on the highway.
so they bite in the snow? =\ that sucks cuz the winters here get pretty bad sometimes. can anyone recommend some good tires that will be good in the snow as well?

My next paycheck goes to some Kumho 712's.
[rant]The sudden reason for ordering them? One more close call in the rain with the shitty-*** stock michelins... Whoever decided to put those tires on a gs-r should be shot...[/rant]

Blame Honda for ruining the reputation of a good tire. My father works for Michelin and I brought this up with him over and over again, pointed him to Geeser's site and some of the other bad press, until he finally felt compelled to ask around at work. He's in a position to get the real scoop too, just in case someone doesn't believe me.
When Michelin makes OEM tires for car companies, they can customize the rubber compounds a little to bring out the best traits of their application. (These are called additives) Typically some companies opt for a slightly harder compound, because if anyone here has had aftermarket Michelins before, you know they wear quickly and grip like hell. Dad didn't say how much exactly, but he indicated that Honda's specification was WAY harder than stock...
This explains why the Michelin spec XGT-V4 will last maybe 20K on a car and the Honda spec has lasted up to 40K.

Sorry about that, but to hear a good company's name dragged through the mud over and over for something they can't be blamed for tends to wear on you.
