Default NissanS!

Nissan's are a whole lot better than hondas, your torque less wonders...shame shame...basic SR20 motors put out more torque than a type r. and the up all motor model sr20ve puts out more torque than a type r does HP....oh and it also has 200 hp too....so whats the deal hondas arent that fast y try to make em.....b16a with altezza lights.....while ur 200 hp type r motor costs a good 4 grand at least from most web sites, u can pick up a GTIR motor for 2000, thats 240 hp by like 230 tq.... or the VE, 200 by 200 for 1800 dollars HONDAS SUCK

Hondas Suck? come on poser... Hondas build incredible engines, and so do nissans. I am a certified Nissan tech and work on them all day long. The Sr20 is a great motor both JDM/USDM, Unfortunetly the QR25 (sr20 replacement) isnt looking to hot, we have lots of internal engine problems on more than 5 spec V's. Hopefully Nissan can get this figured out. But the VQ (base platform) for almost every Nissan is a ******* great engine!

Hondas... Well you can say what you want, But B-series motors ******* own, Type R motors are over-rated, ya its a great motor, but your really paying for the name "TYPE R" its just another B-series...

The B16a however is a great deal, **** man you can get a engine/tranny/ecu for about 1000 bucks, put this in a little 88HF and your car is a ******* rocket.. Slap a homemadeturbo setup on it, then your pushing 250-280 to the wheels in a 1900lb car. Its all FUN!

Jeff

Oh and btw, if your car ever wants to get **** rapped by a honda bring it on up to everett and I will spank the **** out of you and your car Because you probably have a ******* Nissan sentra GXE with a K&N air filter

ya but nissans VVL as i understand uses both cams instead of just the intake cam, and obvisouly one point of VTEC was to get low end torque, well that didnt work out for em...hondas have **** for torque

No Not at all, Nissans use VTC (Variable Timing Control) and the newer ones use CVTC Continious Variable timing control, basically adjusts the intake camshaft timing adv/ret on the fly.

However, Honda is using this & (VTEC) aka Vtec-I (basically totoyta uses this as well VVTL-I)

I've gone to 3 Nissan Schools in our state, and have passed the 3 ASE Certs, Engine/Performance/Brakes.. I'll take some more soon..

Correct, hondas dont have the best torque figures, but remember they are using smaller displacement engines. 1.6 vs 2.0 Lets compare a B20 crvtec stock compared to a bone stock USDM Sr20?

Its known that Nissan Engines dont have great output, Nissan really holds back on this **** from the factory. That is why when you do mods to Nissans they respond better than Hondas.

Speaking of Torque the QR25 has ******* really nice torque for a stock 4 banger.

B-series engines aren't torquey because the biggest one is a mighty 1.8L. I wouldn't exactly brag about a 2L, though.

BTW, 200lb/ft out of a 2L, YEAH RIGHT!

Those motors are all turbo though, thats expected dude.. Put a basic T3/T4 on a Stock 160hp B16a, your easily putting out 230-240hp.. Put a larger T3/T4 on a stock B18c, you looking around 250-280hp. Unfortunetly hondas never came with turbos, and kits are not exactly cheap, so that is why I developed my website (www.homemadeturbo.com) to help others doing this stuff.

I'd like to see a dyno chart of a NA 2L engine making 170lb/ft to the wheels (the minimum that I would consider equivalent to 200 crank lb/ft). Show me.

K20A2's (well modified) make 150-155lb/ft to the wheels. I'm sure the SR20VE is a stout motor, but it can't escape physics (that is to say, torque is directly related to displacement on NA engines).

I'm not trying to be a bitch, just trying to get you to question things a little more.

**** if this guy is so worried about torque why doesnt he just get a LS6 chevelle. Maybe Hondas are played. But I would rather drive my CRX than that Nissan 2000sx or whatever that thing was that was a wannabe CRX

Um what was he think when he said Honda only uses VTEC on one cam? Maybe on a SOHC VTEC it uses the intake lobes but on a DOHC VTEC both cams engage. Correct me if I am wrong but I doubt it.. I hate haters, and haters hate me. ;D

personally i just don't like the look of any nissan available in the USA. no matter whut the motor puts out they still are heavier cars, parts are expensive, suspension is not fully independent on most models, MAF sensor, interior is cheap, i can go on and on. so blah on nissan.
