I'm looking to Turbo Charge a 98 Civic EX Coupe W/ stock SOHC engine.. Need Suggestions!
Hey guys, I have a few bucks to spare and I'm looking to turbo charge a 98 civic ex coupe just for laughs. Anyways I am looking for a good turbo set, but not pay a rediculous amount. Something that will sound nice, and give me a decent amount of HP. My engine has no upgrades (I dont plan on doing any upgrades unless I have to) so I'd be running a low amount of boost; roughly around 6 pds i think, but then again I dunno! Please let me know what you would do if you were going turbo charge a sohc 98 civic, what kit, where you can get it, how much boost to run etc. Remember the whole engine is stock! Thanks!
I wouldn't waste my time with a SOHC civic on a budge, ask anyone who messes with turbo's, THERE IS NO CHEAP WAY TO TURBO A NON TURBO CAR!!!! trust me!, if you really want to waste your money that bad, go with the greddy kit or the drag kit they are the cheapest, but since you say you don't want to mod anything, don't expect to hit more than 4 psi before it stalls, runs bad, or most likely, BLOWS UP
good luck anyway

i would go with the greddy kit. a little more reliable. i have it on my ex and it runs great. go to http://www.turbocivic.net for any questions. stock boost is set on 5psi with greddy kit.
If you are on a budget just do a junkyard t25 or t3 kit. Greddy is probably the most reliabile, cheap, easy to use bolton kit for the d16y8. I have the APEX ball bearing turbo kit and it's really good, spools up quick.
