Why can't you weld aluminum to steel?

Default Why can't you weld aluminum to steel?
I remember reading here that you can't weld steel to aluminum, but i can't find that thread anywhere. Can someone help? Thanks.

you cant weld aluminum to steel becouse of the different metals they have different caractoristics

theres many articles in welding forums accross the net regarding this. the best method to do this is deep under water welding cost fortune but cna be done very cleanly and it will hold

So basically, I should get a steel flange ? What I was going to do have a shop weld an aluminum bov flange to a steel charge pipe, but i guess i'll have to buy a steel flange. Thanks for the replies.

steel flagnes are usally cheaper except when its and hks flagne go figure...

What kind of flange are you looking for? I have one of those Oval Greddy/Blitz flanges right here in steel. Let me know if you want it.

jb weld is cold welding product its epoxy like oyu mix it and rub it on and it holds fine to extent
