Default New here, Just wanted to say "Hi"

Hi, My name is mark. I'm a regular at a few other forums related to CRXes, I've been into CRXes for probaly 7 years now, and I still can't seem to shake the bug.

How does one go about loading a custom avatar here?

You have to go through I think a 60 or 90 day newbie period.

welcome to the board bro, you will find alot of useful information on this site, just remember one thing, do a search before you post a topic, that way you dont get flamed for asking a question that has been answered over and over again

Well, hello all, and thanks for the warm welcome! As I mentioned that I've been into Ef's for a while now, and I've been a regular at the resource and I've been with crxohio since before day 1, and i'm a moderator there- great group of guys.

As far as the D15B2, it's nothing special, just a DX SOHC motor that originally came carbed from japan (anyone want to buy a dual carb setup and dizzy :lol: IN short, I pcked up my 90 civic hatch for $500 with burned up valves, drove up to luckystar in toronto, and picked up said motor. As a testament to the motor, I will say that I was curious and I pulled the valve cover, and the valvetrain was spotless, there was no coked oil to be found and the metal had yet to get that bronze-like finish. Since then I have had my fair share of problems that can be expected with a $500 car including but not limited to having a lower balljoint give up the ghost.

Why didn't I fix the balljoint if I knew it was coming? Well, in short, I had gotten hit by a stoned ghetto smurf who gave me his (moms) insurance info, but failed to accompany me and the other guy who was in the accident to the police station to file the police report. It took his moms insurance company 3 months to decide if they were going to be liable for the damages he did to my car, and I wasn't about to spend any money on a car that was potentially going to be totalled. And I didn't want to replace a balljoint in the dead of winter in my driveway. Well, in short, it failed, I lost and axel as well, but by then end, they decided to cover the damages, and they even covered the balljoint and axel because I had to wait to replace it, and I let them know that I was upset about it.

Anyways, abut posting topics that have already been posted, I'm okay with that, most of the time I like to be on messageboards to keep up on the miscelanious BS and happenings, and catch the occasional meet. I don't care for flaming, the other boards I spend time on don't really have any flamers, but oh well, I've heard plenty of good stuff about this board, and if I don't like it here, I don't think that anyone would miss me, so in short, I appreciate the welcome, and hopefully I won't **** anyone off, and get them to flame me
-Mark

i was unaware that the japanese motors used a number after the last letter in the engine code.

USDM = d15b2
JDM = d15b

maybe i have been confused...?

I'm not really into the whole JDM thing, I think that a lot of the stuff is cool, and I especially like the EF JDM front ends, and the fact that JDM stuff makes the B16A1 swap possible with the right knowlege and parts..... but in the same breath, I can find the needed information when needed, but I don't dwell on it. If that makes sense... JDM to me is more asthetic than functional, and at this moment in time, I'm more concerned with function over form. (being close to broke does that to you

Sport Injection, you're straight edge? That's awesome! I know that "if you're not now, you never were" but in highschool, I was down with that scene, I even followed a vegan diet for 3 years. Those were the days. Unfortunatley, I'm from cleveland, and depending on how long you have been in the SxE scene, you might even remember the OLC/Chalkline/Integrity bulllshit that happened around 97/98 (nineteen ninety hate as OLC affectionatley called it)... Anyways, I gave up on the lifestle, and the scene and everything once I realised that a lot of my heroes were themselves sell outs. I still see some of the members of some of the bands, in fact, tony pines and mean steve are riding bikes with the starbboys, and Matt shandle is in some poppy emo/foofighters type band with a couple of the old chalkline kids. The last hardcore show I went to was the ascension reunion show in cleveland. It was very metal. 666 Rock on!

I noticed furballs avatar. Mine is the donkeykong one at the top of this post, GB all the way!
