My B16 swap is done...(LOTS OF PICS)
Hey guys, just wanted to share some pics of my swap and I thought maybe someone might find it useful... I ordered my engine from hmotorsonline and got it within two weeks... came very well packaged and clean: Steve gets a
Its a B16a with S1 trans...
only problem i had was a messed up alternator belt: replaced with one from a 99-00 si
code check
I have a type r intake and cams: side by side of intakes
to use the type r intake, you need an eacv from a 92-95 civic si/ex and a fuel rail from an 94+del sol or gsr...
aem fuel rail from a 94+ gsr
type r intake put together

my dad grinding away the front mount
front mount gone
bang out this area for alternator clearance

you dont need these two parts

what tranny did u run? u put a new clutch in? waterpump/timing belt? new fluids?

stock clutch for now...
new timing belt/new waterpump/ fresh 5w30 castrol synthetic/new trans fluid/fresh coolant

1st engine I got from steve...3rd Gear Synchro was out, no hoses, intake manifold was cracked, intake manifold gasket wasn't there
2nd engine I got from steve...extemely bad clutch, valve cover was damaged, didn't give me shift linkage

nice swap...thats actually not true what you said about needing a different fuel rail when doing the ITR manifold swap...all you really need is an obd1 IAT to relocate into your air intake tube, instead of using the one in your #2 runner of the manifold.

Just noticed that you bought the 99/00 Si alternator belt, is this the belt that is an inch shorter and makes it so you don't have to dent the frame rail? I bought the 94 Del Sol VTEC belt, but it isn't here yet, I dented the frame rail but would like to also use the shorter belt to gurantee clearance.
thanks for all the kind words guys... the valve cover is from a civic type r(or so i was told) , its my nice one, i have a black one cut to tune the cam gears...
yeah its the b16 throttle body: funds ran out
before i could upgrade
i decided to upgrade the fuel rail anyways so i didnt have to mess around with anything else...
and yes the alternator belt is shorter, but i still made the denting anyways just to be on the safe side
