86 CRX Si? That would insane. I will say 12's with traction. I know a guy with a B18C5 in a 4th gen hatch that's running 13.4's. And he was dissapointed with this time (wasn't pushing it to the max).

The B18C5 will fit anywhere the B16A will. The only problem you might encounter is hood clearance. The only difference as far as dimensions between the B16A and B18C5 is height; the B18C5 is about 8mm taller. All other dimensions are the same as on a B16A.

Just a thought... Put the B16 in there then slap a turbo on the motor. It will cost and wiehgt less. I think it will be faster too.

Hum the b16. well i allready was thinking bout the b16 with turbo. price is not what this project is based on. b16 is just not enoth of a base motor for what i am looking for. i mean you can do some crazy stuff with b16. don't get me wrong!!!!! but think of a b18 type r v-tec turbo!!!!!!! think of that and what it would do!!!

I have a 91 si with the R engine in it, and it is quite fast. I do suggest that you put it in your 86. But make sure to get traction somehow and run the stock ecu with a hondata system. 86crx w/b18c5 + traction = "quick street car"

you prob. figured out that not too many people have done that combo - i am getting ready to put a jdm type r motor in my ef sedan

it will fit in the 86 and usu with hasport mount no hood reliefs need to be cut

i will tell you that an 86 crx that weighed 1850 lbs. ran a 12.70 here last year with a b16 S-T-O-C-K!!

i would have to only guess like everybody else but if you have the suspension and traction that you would go about the same time, faster if you drop wt.

as to the price, well you prob should have at least a compression test and get some kind of warranty, how many miles and will they tune it for you...also what tranny as a hydraulic that comes with it might be tough. he is prob using an s1 or other b16 cable tranny

Dude... calm down.

to begin with, it would be relaly tough to use a B18C5, unless you want to run it off OBD-O components, which would be a drawback. You'd need a cable b-series transmission, I'd suggest S1/J1, custom axles and mounts http://www.hasport.com and a **** load of money to put it in. Not worth starting if you don't know what you're doing.
