What to buy what to buy ?
I actually hesitated posting this but I'm kinda stuck...
WRX or S2000. Yea I'm in a s2000 board so of course I will hear "s2000" but I don't know I'm kinda stuck.
Practicality, yea the WRX ownz, but I am singe and don't care about 4 doors.
I have a loan just sitting here up to 24K.
I can get me a nice 2001/02 S2k or a 02/03 WRX.
The test drive in the WRX was very enticing, I actually failed to see what all the hub bub was about. The car while of course will feel soft with the stock suspension the car overall felt bulky and the steering was a bit slow. S2K is out the box is ready to go.
I know the WRX will ultimately be faster in a strait line but what's the fun in that unless your running 10's?
Any previous or WRX owners in here with both cars or had one after the other? I would love to hear some opinions and so fourth.
right now I'm leaning towards finding me a s2k and going that route.
Is the hardtop a factory option on the s2k? or something I need to buy later?
'04 WRX's are at the dealers already. New looking front end with projector fogs, new rear tail-lense, even better supportive seats than before, center tach, etc. If you want some comfort, you can even get sunroof and heated seats now as options.
Back to your question, the S2000 and WRX are really apples and oranges. Very different cars for different needs.

i recently considered trading my s2000 for a WRX, i went through all the dealer hassle and haggling until i got the price i wante for my trade and the price of the car was good too....then the dealer made the mistake of parking my s2000 next to the WRX right in front of the window where i was sitting... I got all freaked out because my s2000 looked soooooo much better....then again....the WRX is soooo practical... i walked out the dealership right before i signed the papers...
and the WRX is NOT faster in a straight line...they are comparable, I drove both cars back to back, and the s2000 is definately the faster car if you really push them IMO, but not by much...

the hardtop is a factory option, but you can buy it at any time...they are quite pricey though.
check out H and A Accessories for the some good prices.

I pretty much made my decision, its going to be s2k or just keep my car.
What can I say Im a honda owner and I guess I will be until I can afford a 911 haha (like never)
I have My loan through a dealership (through one of those 1800 loan places) so I may just be able to locate My s2k and pick it up.
We will see.

one more time for kicks...
if oyu have an s2000 would you be able to afford a winter car? wrx is great in the snow.. s2k is NOT..
also.. the idea of the 2 seater is cool.. but think of the future as well.. not just the immediate situation..
also.. 24,000 would be sweet in the stock market.. give it 5-6 years then buy a nice porsche..

Im not to much of a gambler. And I dont have 24K cash. I only have about 10K cash to put DOWN on a 24K S2000
how bout spend 6000 on a gsr, another 3000 on mods, and then woop both cars easily? u'd save about 10k
i think johnnybravo on this board is selling his red hatch.. looks very clean and puts over 200 whp.. all for about 10k.

WRX, Z you see it around everytime you go on the freeway (especially in socal). The S2K is much more rare to see. With enough money you can make any car go fast.
if i had the money....i'd fine me a cheap NSX...
but that's me....
i'm not big on wither the s2k or the wrx, cause for that amout of money they seem really slow to me
rob<-- who has spent less than 6k and has a hatch that will rape either one stock

This occured to me. But I just cant bring myself to pay 20K+/- for a car with over 100K on it. I know its a honda but before I know it the car will have 250K on it.
well, get an early 90's model for under 20....and take the rest of the money and buy a c32 to put in it!
rob<---- who one day WILL have himself an NSX, damnit

flame taken
i was only saying that speed shouldn't be an issue...cause i could EASLIY build another mustang and beat every honda car that's ever been on the road, and proablly all the bikes honda built too
i think that a used NSX should be included with these two cars though

have you been in an s2k yet? drive once, and the sound of the motor alone would get you hooked. a good friend recently purchased a wrx and i couldn't help but wonder if he had motor trouble... sounded like the car was coughing at full throttle. anyway, he didn't like the sound either, went to a blitz Nurspec exhaust, and it still sounds crappy.
that's just me. maybe the Sti sounds better? I know it's minor, but I love the sound of the s2k...i wouldn't switch to a WRX, even though 4wd would be great (it's April, and we still have snow in Ohio)
whatever you decide though.both are great cars. if you don't mind paying the same price as a new s2k for a 8-10 year old car, then look into an nsx as well.

i would have gone with the s2k myself. imo, the s2000 is just an overall better car
