Upgrading clutch and flywheel (maybe even crank pulley)
I'm looking to upgrade my clutch to a better performing/more durable street model as well as add a lightened flywheel. What has everyone had experience with and what would you recommend? Right now I'm looking mostly at Exedy and ACT for clutches. After removing the crank pulley on my '98 Civic to change the timing belt this weekend I'm also giving though to changing the crank pulley out on my Accord (that thing was massive!). What kind of performance gains could be expected? How difficult is it to replace the clutch and flywheel and what special tools would be needed?
BTW, I did a topic search and found some info, but not exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks for anyone's help!

Well, when i put the tubo on my accord, i just upgraded to an Centerforce (Stage II) Dual Friction clutch and it worked beautifly. Its just a little bit stiffer then an OEM clutch and can handle a crap load more horsepower. For the flyweel, i guess it would really depend on what performance upgrades your planning on going after. For me, i just left the flyweel stock. But if you did have the money to upgrade to one, there would be a noticable difference, but as for the horsepower, who knows. As for the tools needed, the only really special tool you would need would be the allignment tool for the clutch, and 12-point socekets for the clutch-to-flywheel bolts and the flywheel-to-crank bolts. And the difficulty level is marginal depeneding on what mechanical backround you have cause i personally would would pull the whole engine out to change the clutch. But,,, it is possible to take the tranny off with the ingine still in the car, but it getts kinda a tricky when it comes time to put the tranny back on....
Well, i hope that was a help to you if any....

what kind of flywheel are you looking for? just wondering because i have a fidanza flywheel at home i can't seem to unload. it's brand spanking new, hardly even out of the box just long enough to dream about my h22 to never be. naturally since it's the same damn thing as brand new i want brand new cost for it but hey, with me you don't have to pay tax and very little shipping since it's a small box and barely weighs 10 lbs. a lot of the guys in the prelude forum have fidanza's and love them. btw, this flywheel fits any accord '90-02 and any 'lude '92 to the last year they ran.
you looking for fidanza. i have some on sale, b d or f/h series
brand new from the factory, with hardware-250 shipped
i love them, we sold 21 in the nissan group buy and i know tons of honda/acura ppl running them.

I'd go for the lighter flywheel. Its the best NA mod out there.
Stick with ACT clutches and pick one that will handle your future plans. I have a ACT street disc and extreme pressure plate.
If it matters I opted not to put the UR crank pulley on based on Stew Pidassos experiences with them (search and it will come).

i have a act 6 puck disk and hdpp(a little harsh i know) with a clutchmasters lightend flywheel-I highly reccomend tha flywheel- its 1 of the best mods i've done to my car. go with a extreme pp and a street disk/ or tha clutchmasters duel friction: both are good clutches!

Thanks for everyone's replies as it helps to hear what people actually using these parts feel about them.
