BEFORE nitrous what???
I know nitrous can do some serious damage to a car. But what i am thinking is doing it anyways. Now what do i need to check, like test the engine for what? make sure things are working right. or should i screw the zex kit and get jun stage3 cams and cam shafts. thanks

nitrous is very fun but u have to make sure u have it done right and by someone who has done it before... but then again that should go for evrything u do to your car... nitrous oxide is a dangersou chemical in its own and u should be careful with it... many people burn valves and whatnot because they failed to have their fuel delivery properly done... one of my friends had this happen to him and iv heard many more stories... if u run lean when pusshing the button... u will burn valves... as long as it is done right... u shouldnt have any worries though... but i must tell u that it is very addictive...
as for the juns... that is a safer route to go... but also will require alot more money and it is not a fool-proof setup... with these cams u should setup your car to rev-higher cua thats where the power really is.. therefore u would also have to upgrade your valvetrain and upgrade your chip... yet... people will still drop valves and what not if not done right...
look at it this way... anything u do to your car will have its sideeffects... a motor from the factory has problems a lone... once u start changing stuff... differant stuff will be affected and stuff will break... its a known fact... if i would have to sum up which one is safer or better... i would say a full jun setup is much safer and more reliable... but then it is also more $$$... a nitrous setup is basically the best bang for the buck... but there is no guarentee on your motor...
its up to u

95gsr: The ZEX kit is fairly safe and reliable, as far as nitrous kits go. I'm thinking of getting one, too. Before you install it, though, there are a few things you should do, kind of like a mini tune-up. At least do a compression test, if not a full leak-down test, to make sure your cylinders are within proper compression range. Change spark plugs to one heat range cooler, to prevent detonation when the juice is spraying. If it's been a while, replace your fuel filter. Get a valve adjustment, too, if it's time. You might also consider a new fuel pump, but that's probably not a priority with a small shot of nitrous. Besides, rumor has it that the 94-95 fuel pumps are better than the subsequent years, for some reason.
Also, don't spray below or above certain rpm, for engine safety. You don't want to run into the rev limiter/fuel cut-off with nitrous going into the engine.
Good luck. If you do this, let up know how the install goes.

If you're going to squeeze, do it right and overkill on the fuel & ignition. You can never have too much of those when running nitrous, considering most nitrous users will increase the size of the shot they are running.
Here's a good set-up:
Ignition
MSD 6AL or SCI-L (same thing, different boxes)
MSD or Magnecor spark plug wires
Try a few different spark plugs (NGK coppers) from a few heat ranges cold then what you have now.
Fuel
RC Engineering 310 cc injectors
B&M fuel pressure regulator & guage
Endyn-modified Bosch fuel pump
Other
Jacobs Electronics makes only one thing worth buying...their Nitrous Mastermind. Pretty cool piece, will shut off the nitrous if it senses a drop in fuel pressure. A lot of other useful features.

compersion and leakdown were both good so i guess valve seals are ok. so i so up the fuel pres. a bit while running juice, Do you guys think i should be running rich at all times so when the NO2 goes in it wil lean out and not burn up my seals also i heard the zex kit with the comp. limits the amout of No2 that goes into the engine a certian given rpm. corect me if i am wrong. also heard it is a fairly easy install to do. any do this them selves? any tips? or how much would it cost to put it in?

I guess it all comes down to how much nitrous you plan to use. A lot of the above-mentioned items would be over-kill if you're only planning on running the ZEX with the 50 shot. However, if you want to so something bigger, say the 125 shot, that'd be a different story.
So, what shot of nitrous do you plan on starting out with, and what's your ultimate nitrous goal? --stay small, or go big?

alright, think about this. If you mess up fuel delivery with a Turbo/Supercharger/Naturally Aspirated...........you will kill your motor, just like Nitrous!
Also, with say..a 50 shot, you're using the extra 50 horse ONLY when you're on it. If you were me, you'd end up using it maybe once a week. When you've got a supercharger/NA monster/Turbo (at least when you're on the gas..) you're making the motor work more.
My educated guess is that a 50 shot will be BETTER for the motor (depending on how often it is used) than a turbo/supercharger..
Nitrous is now pretty much idiot proof (if installed correctly..). For example, the ZEX kit has a feature in which, if the bottle pressure gets too high, it'll release the nitrous, so your trunk doesn't blow up.
Also..if you have money for the Jun setup...GET IT. You'll get much more respect with an all motor setup.

what is included in the juns stage 3 kit. also i was planning on just getting the cams now then ecu and so on i don't have 3300$ to spend on the kit. right now but i can do it in stages. what would you get first???
