Interesting dashpot findings
Well, I had removed the one dashpot off of my B16A (5 million series), and I found out someting interesting. After I had taken it off, I had problems with the cable sticking whenever I would press the gas pedal. At first I thought it was too loose, but I tightened it up and nothing. After i put the thing back on, it fixed my problem! My gas engagement is smooth as hell! So if you guys are in a similar situation, you may want to put yours back on. Interestingly, Raene took both of his off, and he has no problems with the cable sticking, except at startup. Just thought I'd share this knowledge.
Yeah, the funny thing is, my brother's car works fine without them. Weird.
b1reed, it's a funny little thing that sits right beside the throttle body. It has a vacuum line that goes into the air intake tube, and it basically smooths out the engine rpm when you're shifting, etc.

I don't use the dashpot and don't have any sticking problems.
When did it stick when opening or closeing?
If it was when opening you should play with the throttle plate stop screw to set the plate slightly open as if the dashpot was still attached then use the idle screw to bring the idle back to spec.
Most of the plates will stick from a fully closed positon especaily after warm up.
