Question regarding faux carbon fiber panels & Phoenix Yellow imperfections
I've just got back from Ohio from looking at an 01' PY ITR that I'm picking up in April and have a couple of innocent questions.
1- Do the bumpers tend to not match the steel panels on the vehicle as far as the shade of yellow is concerned. It seems like in the right light, the bumpers tend to not quite match up to the rest of the vehicle. They looked ever so slightly duller.
2- (not a huge deal) But I was wondering if the passenger side heating vent on the dash isn't supposed to have the faux carbor fiber film on it? Looks kinda odd when you first notice it.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to finally being an ITR owner and will probably begin to notice many more quirky little things once I own the vehicle for a while.

I've seen some pictures where the bumpers don't really match, my car matches... and I don't have the CF vent on the passanger side (I don't think anyone does.).
bumper is because of the flex additives cause the paint to fade quicker than the rest of the car.
faux cf is not on passenger side. another way acura saves cash.

a week after i had my car i thought someone stole the passenger side vent
Thanks guys! I mentioned it to the current owner and we came up with that because thr bumpers are made from the black urethane it's slightly showing up through the paint.

All of the PY ITR's I've ever seen have had a lighter colored bumper front and rear from day one.. It's not from fading. It's not supposed to have the CF on the passenger side..
P.S. You should buy mine, it's got way lower mileage and is pristine..

So, is this the reason why you're not looking at buying Owen's 98' ITR? There isn't anything wrong with the one he has is there? I'm interested in buying it, but I don't want to buy it if there is something that you saw or noticed that you didn't like about...
NO THIS IS NOT WHY! I'm in NY and Owen is in Oregon so I never got out to see the vehicle.
I'm not purchasing his vehicle because he is under certain time restraints to sell his vehicle. In other words, he needs to sell the vehicle by a certain date and I will not have the funds until after that date.
THAT IS THE ONLY REASON!!!! There's absolutely nothing wrong with this vehicle based on the information I obtained on it.
