Default 13.7 all motor rsx at track today

My buddy and I went down to the track in West Hampton, Long Island and he ran a 13.7 all motor @102. somethin. I give RSX's mad credit. I got a ls turbo in a integra and my best time was 13.8@105 with street tires that would not grip for ****. The damn thing beat me all motor, he had Hondata flashed to work with his Type R cams, full japenese exhuast, with some 1000 dollar header, intake, and short shifter. SICK

By any chance was this Peter? That header is the comptech race header, eliminates the cat. It's a very nice piece, have it on my car too. Guess which is the stock and which is the comptech header

That's extremely impressive. Now if the K20A3 could also soon post awesome results like that. Either way though...

sorry to hi jack this thread, but edo over at clubrsx, who has similiar mods ran a 13.2 on slicks (not exactly the best run either)! I just thought i would share it over here since we're talking 1/4 times and all.

Actually, I think the stock K series headers are pretty decent. Better than the headers that Honda has used on the B series or D series.

Well.,..the location of the cat on the stock K series motors kills all flow...all of that flow travels like 1 foot and then comes all together in the collector and hits the cat at the same time...terrible design! That's why the comptech and JR race headers kick butt and why the DC and other shorty headers don't gain significant power..even with a test pipe, compared to the race headers. This has been dealt with over at ClubRSX.

Well, the exhaust path in general is better - no more 90 degree bend around the front of the block - but the header design itself is shitty. the primaries are so short, and they went to the "e" pipe design for the secondaries.

The JR header & comptech headers are the way to go.

Borla supposedly makes header that extends the primaries, but requires some modification of the pipe/flange leading to the cat. It's actually a two piece design, and the 2nd half requires you to cut off the pipe leading to the cat, slip the 2nd piece over it, weld it on. it allows for longer primaries, and does away with the e-pipe as well. it's considerably cheaper than the JR and comptech as well and should give better gains than a dc or similar header.

I thought that the track at West hampton was going to be closed this year. Its good to hear that there is still a track on the Island. It doesn't hurt that you can run there all day and make as many passes as you want.
