When your ITR gets too slow....
doesn't a guy in Cali own that? its suppose to have 1200+hp! I've been told he likes to go out on the interstate and 'toy' w/ Hiyabusas and what not.
he has been quoted as saying 'When you go WOT in this car, you are taking your life into your own hands'

but damn cant argue with the hardware. DAMN!!!
another but: If I had the money for this car, I think I would rather have an R33 with 1000hp. OMG

Edit:
could these be water hoses going into really small air-water intercoolers?
those bulgy things before TBS might be heat exchangers or sumthin.

They are coolers... The owner of the last shop I worked at has an eight hundred hp HKS Supra that has walked away from a Hayabusa on the freeway... didn't believe it until he put several car links on my friends 136rwhp CBR 900 RR that now weighs less than 400lbs wet...
That Supra is legendary...I've heard about it many times. Although you beat someone by car "lengths" not "links"...
I would rather have that Diablo than any other 1000+ hp car I have seen. Mid-engine, rwd or 4wd it doesnt matter...youd be almost F1-quick. I dont even want to imagine what that cost. I am giving this the title of "best thread of all time"

I think that was John Carmack from Id software of Castlewolfstein, Quake fame. If you haven't read the interview, it's a worth while read - this guy got very, very, very rich through programming games and he's enjoying it - I'm green with envy.

This is a break from the usual questions from this group, but I thought it would be interesting to know.. You have a couple of exotic sports cars, one being a 1000 horsepower/750 ft-lbs of torque (insane!) ferrari, and I was wondering which one you generally drive to work?
John Carmack Answers:
I drive my twin-turbo F50 almost all of the time. It took a while to get all the bugs sorted out, but it is almost a perfect combination right now. It is light, nimble, and responsive, and 600 hp at the rear wheels is just about perfect for a street car of that configuration.
I only drive my testarossa now when I am low on gas in the F50 or if I need to drive someplace where I think the extra inch or two of ground clearance is important. It is heavy and ponderous, but every time I do drive it, I am impressed again with the power. 1000 hp at the rear wheels is excessive. It takes a while to spin the turbos up to the full 24 psi of boost, but when it has a full head of steam going, it moves like nothing else on the road. It runs away from superbikes on the highway. However, when exercising it, you have a very clear sense that you are taking your life into your hands.
I will probably be getting rid of my TR when my next project car is completed. It is a custom carbon fiber bodied ferrari GTO with a one-of-a-kind billet aluminum twin turbo V12. It is going to make a bit more power than the TR, but only weigh about 2400 lbs. I have a suspicion that we will wind up detuning the engine, because 1 hp / 2 lbs is probably quite a bit past excessive and into the just-plain-stupid realm.
It was supposed to be done two years ago -- mechanics are worse than programmers.
I also have a little MGB that I am theoretically working on myself, but I haven't had time to touch it in six months?

Very Nice, Not a fan of the yellow paint in the engine bay or the Rissoto stickers on the side
Mike - who will now have to rent a Diablo next weekend to make up for not having the ITR for 6 months THEN seeing this mmmmmmmm

He should invest in some better brakes and a roll cage/bar at least with that much horsepower. Those front brakes are tiny. It would be a scary car to drive....
