it stiffens the rear, theoretically it would increase oversteer a bit. The R is pretty stiff back there though, not a major difference...but anything you can do to increase chassis rigidity helps handling because it lets the suspension operate as intended without chassis flex robbing you of steering and suspension geometry.
and it partitions your rear hatch into 2 nice sections, so you can keep your tires up front and they won't roll back onto the rest of your stuff in the rear

I installed a JDM Type-R rear strut bar about a week ago and I didn't notice a change is oversteer or understeer. But I could tell that it added more rigidity to the rear of the car. The car actually fells as if the rear spring rate has been increased. The addition of the rear strut tower bar is noticeable when I go over uneven surfaces or when I go over speed bumps at an angle.
I installed one about 3 weeks ago, didn't notice anything excpet for the bling factor. We'll see when I drop the car in April if it helps stiffen up the rear a bit more. This was on a GSR with Stock suspension on at the moment (winter

Where can I get the rubber stuff around the edges of the cut? I'd love to do that, it looks so fresh and so clean!

sorry to bring back from the dead back i've been wondering if you can buy similar trims of different sizes so I can make my rear panels look cleaner.
also can anyone with an emracing bar triangulated bar show me a pic with the panels intact, I want to see how neat your guys hacked the plastic panel. already searched and iddn't return a lot of results
