Default wet o2 sensor

ok so my car has been sitting in the garage for about 6 months, i started it today and water was shooting out of the exhaust (i figured it would from sitting so long) and i realized my air/fuel guage wasnt working. after messing with the wires to the guage i figured it was a bad o2 sensor. i pulled the sensor and it was dripping wet so i blew it dry and have to tied off to the side of the exhaust for now. so my question is, is the o2 sensor dead or can these things work again after they are dried???

Default Re: wet o2 sensor (poxu)

Water is formed by normal combustion. So during the short time it takes for the sensor to heat up, it will get wet each time you start the engine. After maybe a minute it's hot & dry again. This has nothing to do with sitting for 6 months.
