Steering wheel shakes when braking?
Hmmm...doesn't sound too good.
Well, I just replaced my front brake pads a couple weeks ago. Not exactly sure...if that is when it started. Does this help any?

What is involved in turning? Turning the rotor around?
Doesn't sound too hard to do yourself?
How do I know visually if the rotor is warped? Do I just turn both fronts?

Turning the rotor is another way of saying resurface the rotor.
You can do this if you know what you're doing and have the proper tools.
Some Kragen will work with the machine shop and do it for you.
Depending on the severity, mild warp is hard to see.
It's a good idea to do both at the same time.
Hope this helps

Ok...took my car for a drive today ...
No more shaking. I'm like WTF...why was it shaking yesterday and the day before.
So...if it was warped it would happen everytime i brake?
It might start up again... ?
Is it still my rotors?
Seriously I dont know the last time my car has been aligned. Bought the car lowered at 25,000 miles...since then I got a camber kit and 17s...and haven't went for an alignment.
I know - someone slap me.

And I think the answer IS:
WARPED ROTORS!!! " Crowd goes wild, HAAAaaaaaaa, loud hissing sound."
Of course I could be wrong but, that sounds like what I had Before I had mine either reground or replaced on my old 94/Ls with 94,000 miles...

Are you an Auto or stick?
And if you did take it for a ride and it felt normal, did you really heat the brakes up or was it like around the town?
I still think you need to regrind your rotors THEN maybe an alignment! As I said I had my LS for 94K miles and did NOT once have an alignment, "and I live in NY!" But when my Teg shook like that, I needed the rotors reground @ around 75K miles or so, and I had the 5 spd.

Guess what...i found the shaking again.
It only does it when i semi-hard brake from high speed...like 70mph.
::sigh:: i'll get it checked out at the dealer i guess. I got them replacing my rear brakes for 15$
Hehe. Yea, I'm lazy.

I had a similar problem when braking from high speed (>100kph) ... took the car back under used car warranty for repairs. They just machined the discs and now its fine.

i really doubt you've got warped rotors. I have a steering wheel shake whenever braking from a high speed, say 70-80mph, to brake on an interstate exit ramp. My rotors are not warped, yet exhibit this behavior. When I bought my car I had the rotors turned b/c they were warped then, so I know the difference between the two different shakes. I am getting new Brembo rotors at all 4 corners within 2 weeks so we'll see if my steering wheel still shakes after new pads and rotors.
My brakes do the same thing. I was out in the middle of nowhere (HWY 155 out by grand coulee) this weekend doing 120+ and lots of braking from 120 down to 80 around corners and down hills and the shaking got even worse after the brakes heated up.

turning your rotors means to have them cut with an expensive machine that turns the rotor ( to spin) and a strong *** metal cutting blade litterally eats away at your rotors making them even and smooth. you can take your rotors to a gas station or any mechanics shop and have them cut for about 5 to 10 dollars per rotor. having warped rotors isnt a serious matter but jus a real annoyance. tell me how things go if you havent done so.
i must say, you defientely have warped rotors...
i know a thing or two about cars, and when you get steering wheel shake from braking it is, in fact, rotors...not alignment...
they can be intemittant...it its slight warpage, which would explain the shaking only with a certain amount of pressure
have a good shop check the the rotors out...they may not be slavageable (though they should since they seem to only be slightly warped) but it depends how the rotors warped...
you can upgrade to Accord calipers and Prelude VTEC 11' rotors...i did...
also, stop braking hard while turning the wheel (thats what causes it)
oh, and just saw the site...pretty nifty, nice car...i think a JDM front end would set it off though...
and if thats a real ITR spoiler give it back to the person you got it from, i think he regrets selling it for 80% below MSRP
HAHA! your a dancer...
...hook me up with jessica..
...nice nipples...
