SMIC - very original.
Lots of pics..

First off, I was using a friends Starion/Conquest intercooler in my Ls/Vtec turbo crx. So I needed to get my own setup.

First off I have to thank Tyrus for this sexy piece, we have used his intercoolers before, but we were a bit sure how well this intercooler was going to fit in a 4g.
Core Size: 30in (wide) x 5 1/4in (tall) x 2in (deep)
End Tanks: 2.25 (wide) x 5 3/8in (tall) x 3in (deep)
Piping: 2.5 OD x 1.25 thick / 2.75in Long

On all intercooler installs, you need to start with test fits, It took a few trys to get this thing sitting nice and flush, and aligned perfectly with the bumper. (especially on this car, since it has been wrecked badly in the front end)

Give you an idea what the 2 intercoolers look side by side

You can see that this intercooler has 2.5 inlets, opposed to the starions 2.0in pipes.

I didnt want to take a bunch of pics of the hacking, because their was alot, basically we had to cut alot of **** off the front end, including parts of the core support to bring it up high enough to fit right. We used a sawz all, 5in cutoff wheel and a air hacksaw.

As you can see I had to bend the tabs down a little bit so I could get it to mount to the core support. (rh mount)

This is the LH mount, just 2 10mm bolts holding the IC in place.

Then finally got it mounted, Next step I didnt want to show everyone, because My front bumper is really gay, and I just hacked the living **** out of it
Basically need to cut alot of the plastic off the backside of the front bumper so it fits nice. I kinda cut more than I really needed to.

A few mandrel bends 2.5 from JC Whitney that we used.

This is the upper ic pipe coming off the compressor housing, it goes from 2in imediatly to 2.5in piping, I did have to remove the Washer Bottle/Pump assembly for these pipes to clear.

This is the left hand lower section of the IC piping, we used 1 180 and a 90 for this side. The couplers are from Napa, just 2.5 black silicone hose, works perfect!

This is the right hand lower side, Very similar to the other side, except I ran out of couplers, so I had to use the sexy yellow piece from a old intake we had.

And yes, the hacked up upper IC pipe, this piece has been around along time in a few of my cars, it has been modified many times for different setups, as you can see their is about 40 different welds, hahah,
Mounted to the IC pipe, is my Tial Blow off Valve.

All done

Ok, here we go again
Super sleeper style.

Keeping it ALL under the hood...
Notice the extra radiator cap for the custom aluminum reservoir in the stock intake resonator box location. The overflow from the intercooler system bleeds off into the stock overflow tank for the radiator because they use the same kind of fluid...
There's a bigass bilge pump on the frame rail to keep everything circulating... High volume, low pressure.

Front Mounted Fluid Cooler for the water for daily driver duties...

i really dont like those intercoolers mentioned by abaz. they are sections of ford intercoolers (the one my friend has actually has a ford decal on it) that have end tanks welded on. not exactly the best flowers but cheap and the quality was decent. they are too long and not tall enough and they are very slim
looks like an SiR bumper
waht exaactly it is?? looks slick and beautiful

after hours of trying to fit my 28x8x3 intercooler, i gave up. Now i'm selling it for a smaller thinner, but long one for the "bling bling" factor.
hey ABAZ, is that the factory front lip for an si?? or is it custom...because i have a DX CRX and looking for something like that...holla
