How crappy is it gonna be running the h23 at 9.0:1 CR until i get the turbo? Or will it be pretty strong since the whole thing is freshly built?

Well it won't be as strong till you get some boost on that lower CR, though it shouldn't be too bad. How long till the turbo is ready?

it's not so much the turbo, but the drivetrain reinforcments that are making me have reservations. I'm looking at 400-500whp when the project is done, and from what i've read I'm gonna need a full differential, driveshafts and maybe even a race tranny.

This h23 needs rebuilding either way, turbo or not. Is it worth sleeving and doing pistons for a mild n/a system? maybe find something rwd later on to do a mad turbo on?

yes, in order to push that much boost to be able to reach 4-500 hp, you will need new sleeves...check out either darton or golden eagle...both are reputable...you will definitely need new rods as well...that's probably enough for the bottom end, unless you want to replace the bearings as well...that should do it for the bottom end...

you run everyday on a F22 which should have around 8.8 cr, so i guess you will be ok

Yeah i know all that, that wasn't the problem. Building the motor is the easy part. The Turbo system itself i have a pretty good idea about. It's the drivetrain part that's getting me down. If i want to get all 4-500hp to the wheels i'm gonna end up doubling my budget on a heavyduty tranny and driveshafts.

So what i'm asking i guess is since my f22 is on it's last legs is: Is rebuilding the H23 and swapping it in worth it? I'll leave the compression as is and make it a little stronger over all, lighten up the fly wheel and add some little things here and there.
