knock sensor crazy question guru plz read
i was tinking getting the knock sensor whire(neg pulsation) and just put a led on it whit 12v+and see if maybe the led would do some pulsation flash when detination occur!no one ever try that before?

A knock sensor is a piezoelectric device that generates it's own voltage when vibrated/impacted against. We are talking around one volt at a few mA at peak output.
The knock sensor output has to undergo DSP (digital signal processing) to isolate the exact frequencies that indicate the sensor is detecting knock.
Nothing there to wire a LED into. Your cheapest bet is to grab a Saab APC for ~$75 and run a powered LED to pin 19, which grounds for half a second when the APC detects knock. The APC also doubles as a nifty boost controller, and cuts boost under engine knock. It's completely standalone once removed from the Saab 900/9000 it comes equipped on.
