b18c turbo or h22 turbo??
what do u think would be a better setup, its for a 5gen hatch
both setups will be turbo
b18c =stock sleeveswith forged rods, pistons
h22 = stock internals
either 1 will be getting tuned a stand alone
motec or microtech
car is driven daily im looking for about 370 whp
thanks

Well, for one, every b-series turbo motor i've done has made more than the h-series. Two, there are alot more parts available for the b series. And last but not least, the b series is much easier to work on than the h series. Also, you have a bigger selection of trannys available for the b series and the seem to shift smoother at high rpm than the h series do.
thanks tony for the explainnation i was planning on building an h22 simply for the displacement of the motor, but i have heard of there trannys not being able to shift smoothly at high rpm.

ever try shifting a h series tranny @ 9000 rpm's???? they won't have it.
didnt know this..guess there goes my plans for a h22 bored out to 2.4L turboed..how much less hp would a 2.0liter gsr make vs the h24

700+ hsp to the wheels is possible on race gas on a b series block so i'm sure you'll be fine.......horsepower wise.
i was planning on doing an H22 swap into a teg. H22's pull more torque and would be cheaper than a C5. i was planning on boosting it w/ a turbo later on. is this not a good idea then?

i wouldn't use the h22 or the c5 for boost. get a b18c1 or sleeve a ls and add a vtec head.
just get a D15 and turbo that
you'll make the mad powa!
hahaha.....what a comedian!!!!!!!

depends on what kind of power you want to make. if your going over 350, the h22 is gonna suck on the street. it will have too much torque and not enough top end. i know from experience that a 9500(i had a 9800) rev limit is awsome!!!! and the tranny will still shift(b series). the h22 will launch good and pull a good 1/8th mile on slicks......but thats it. the tranny/rev limit is the biggest reason i wouldn't do the swap. just depends on your goal. is it a street car??? street car for the track??? are you running the nhra street class(having weight issues)??? is it a track only car?? hot rod class??? i would stick with the b series either way.
you can try to offset the torque with different gearing with an accord tranny or big slicks( like 26") but then you start to have all kinds of breaking issues, axles, diff.

i was planning on swapping it into my 00 si and make it into a street and strip car. but mainly eat **** on the street. i wanted to make big power numbers with the h22 but like you said to get traction on the street will probally be impossible because of the torque of the h22 and i really dont want to be ridding on slicks everyday.
this is really F***ing up my plans here. i thought i was set on an H22 into a teg
. i still dont know if my opinion has been swayed enough yet. i figure if i got an integra shell and put an H22 into it, it would be fairly cheap and i would be alot closer to going FI.

you are right about that jinx. i just might be going with the b18c with my b16 head instead. and any thoughts of the b16 besides that you can rev that little motor to hell.
a friend of mine had a h22 in his teg. typical rev hard / inlinepro style turbo kit, went 11.90. other friends with same kit, same fuel management, same driving, went faster with the b18c1. easily 5 tenths faster and never broke axles like the h22/teg either.

no doubt about it...
