Fastbrakes...?'s
I tried searching for the last hour...recent/archived topics...no luck. This is all I have found, a place to buy from...

From what I see: standard 1piece rotor, using your OEM caliper, and you can pay more for the slotted/drilled, or even go with a two piece rotor. On the bottom right corner is a link for their rear disk conversion.
I know the rear conversion has little effect, but for the front, who has them, and what do you think of them. I have 15" NZO Monza wheels (SSR) knockoff, so other bigbrake kit's won't fit. Or if you know of other "Big brake kit's" that fit 15" wheels let me know? Thanks

For more money they also have a 4 piston caliper upgrade.

Just bumping, also really considering going with the 11" oem style rotor with the Wilwood 4 piston calipers. They come with pads, steel lines, mounting hardware.

Are your fronts the 11" or the 10.2" with 4 piston or 2 piston Wilwood calipers? Are your rear 11" or the 10.2" with OEM or 2 piston Wilwood calipers? Is there a noticeable difference with the rear disk kit. My 89' Si is strickly a Auto-X car with ocasional track day's at PIR. I am definately starting with the front kit. Right now my 89' has horrible braking, compared to my 02 civic coupe.

those rears look pointless... the OEM caliper only covers half of the oversized rotor... it may cool better but as little action as the rear sees i seriously doubt that it would be segnificant... is there a better caliper option for the rears?
The pic of the rear is a OEM caliper. The Fastbrakes web page shows that with the rear kit there is no more options other than rotor selection... Hopefully this is not true and they can upgrade to a Wilwood 2 piston caliper???

I'm sure that Brian would do a custom rotor setup for the rear if there was sufficient demand. The advantage of his current setup (the one I have) is increased leverage. Just think of an 18" power bar, or a chunk of pipe on the end of a wrench. It adds leverage. So the OEM caliper has additonal leverage on the wheel, by moving it farther out from the hub center.
The current setup on my car is 11.75" front rotors, and 11.4" rear rotors. The front rotors are 2 piece, and calipers/pads/rotors/brackets/knuckles weigh the exact same as the OEM Civic STD 9.4" stuff that came off the car.
The balance of the braking is right on the money with the current configuration. I am using some pretty aggresive pads on the front (Panther Carbotech), and some KVR carbon pads in the rear. I have stainless brake lines all around, and Castrol SRF brake fluid. I am using the Civic STD 13/16" master cylinder, brake booster and prop valve, and the pedal is perfect. It is neither too soft nor too hard, has short to normal travel, and is super easy to modulate. I have done several (10-12) stops from 80 mph in rapid succesion, and the brakes definitely get hot, but still work as well or better after 4-5 stops than they did on the first.
For those of you that question my ability to judge pedal feel, and braking performance, let it be known that I've turned a couple thousand laps on some of the road courses here in Canada, as well as competed in 6-7 years of autocross racing on the international (Canada and the US, regional and national events) level. I've driven cars that have brakes for 30-40 laps, and I've driven cars that won't stop after 3-4 hard corners.

chance to brag huh... well I still think that the smaller calipers on the rear wont do much due to the brake balance... most of the braking is in the front so leverage isnt really an issue for the rear... my $.02
For this particular kit, I had to put 90-91 Civic EX knuckles on. The EX came with the 10.3" front brakes. I know Brian has a kit that fits the cars that came with the 9.4" front rotors, and you could use your existing knuckles with that kit.
I have the fastbrake 11 kit in the front with Integra calipers. There is a big difference in braking. I ran them at an HPDE a couple weeks ago and they relly performed well. They clear my 15" slipstreams no problem.
The install is super easy too.

Holtville killed the 9.5" stockers.
