Frequently skimped on items.
I've been reading heaps of posts about setups ppl are doing, with this and that but it never ceases to amaze me that people would still bother to run an FMU!
The most important part of the turbo setup/stage is that u run some sort of engine management. The FMU is just too band aid and too many horror stories occur. Most poepl who go FMU try and justify there answer with, i cant afford it etc. Usually, they have a blown motor to add to their bill. Its quuite simple guys, save up abit more before you boost, and get it done right the first time, and only one time! even a VAFC/SAFC will be better than an FMU!

the thing is that if u lena it out, at least u can still paly with the fuel mix etc. With FMU u cant at all. I've had 3 boosted honda;s and the first was the worse, cos i skimped wherever i could!
the last one is the best, i spent out the first time but got it right one time!
I am a firm believer of a standalone, expecially yhe autronic SMC

the blue box isn't that skimpy. don't get me wrong, its still considered a temporary solution to me, but before i can get a standalone, i think the blue box keeps everything running safely..
never noticed oil lines benign skimped on but i have notices suspension is almost always skimped on. when going fast traction is also important.
fuel mangament caused me to ditch my whole turbo setup. I said to myself if I was gonna do it I was gonna do it all the way and have my car perform like it came from the factory turboed. Alas it didn't go that way so instead of blowing my engine or having lackluster performance I just sold everything.
I'll start fresh next year.
ps: someone buy my blow-off valve please
