Sounds like a clicking cv and a bad rack---or it could just be the rack clicking if they do that when they are bad. Something is fubarred.

i dont which steering rack is more responsive, but i do know that you do have a 4th option which is to get a rebuilt one (not from honda). i was thinking of doing this myself as i believe my own steering rack is worn out.

here's a link to a shop online who sells them...
http://www.buy-steering.com/Merchant...ry_Code=HONCIV

you can try searching google but i think this is the lowest price listed that i've seen.

Losing faith in the ol' EF?...copp a remanufactured rack, throw in, align and be done. Getting a junkyard rack is a crapshoot.

i'd verify that price for the rack at the dealer...i was told, when i priced out my pistons, that they'd be probably about 100 bucks a pop. He was very wrong, so you may wanna ask for a definate price if it does obligate you in any way.

just go to firsttexashonda.com, go to service, parts, tehn enter year, make model. in the parts listing go to steering gear...., then choose steering gear, then manual & you'll see all of the associated parts, teh rack itself is only $117.xx, it doesn't say too much about it, but it shoudl be a genuine Honda part since this is a local dealership.

Crxer - I had heard that too, but since I have no info on it I didn't want to throw it out there prematurely & be wrong. But, since there are now 2 of us, there may be something to that........
