01-02 Accord Coupe questions....
I am thinking of buying a 01-02 Accord Coupe EX, Silver with black leather interior. Now my question is, to the people who have the automatic V6 how do you like it? How is the power on it? Any known problems with the auto tranny? Should I go for the 4cyl stick instead? How is your gas mileage? Thanks for your help...
I have a inline4 and my homie got a v6
the 01-02 is better-Traction thingie and better seats.
v6 auto is fast off the lane but the tranny is pretty weak.
it will be hard to work on tho'-little room for upgrade
when you start modding it, it will get expensive..
6 spark plugs/ wires, two headers, etc.

well the white one looks like a fridge, the black one I don't like cause it gets dirty way too quick and all scratches are visible, unless I see it for a good price.
depends on what you're looking for. test drove the 4cylinder for a whole day, thought i'd like it more because it was stick, drove the v6 the next day for 10 minutes, and ended up buying an '01 v6. tcs is great in the winter, and as much as stick can be boring, i'd much rather have v6 power. i've heard people complain about the tranny being weak, but i've never had any trouble with it, and even if there was a problem, there is an extended warrenty that was issued a while back so i wouldn't worry about that. go to the accordv6.com site and you can read more about it there.

PS. Yes, the black gets dirty quickly, but if you take care of a car (like you should), black is awesome when it's clean. But, yes, out of all the colors to maintain, black is probably the hardest to maintain. Mine used to get washed 2 times a week quite frequently because it would get dirty so quickly.
don't u just love nighthawk black??
i'd would be LOVE to have v6 only if it has 5speed auto...
and i MISS MY MANUAL TRANNY....
just get I4 5speed... like me.. if u get I4 AUTO(and yes i was forced by my parent) .. you will regret it FOREVER!!
and if u wanna get bored of driving after 2min.. sure get v6.. or just get I4

gas mileage? hahaha..it's a v6.. totally depends on how you drive. hammer down everywhere, you'll suck gas. then again, in my civic, hammer down, i suck gas too. just depends on your driving habit. gas price is fine, and it does necessarily require high octane gas.
mods? parts are harder to come by, but i think accord parts in general are in less abundance than, for example, civics...well, if you want rice-parts, they are easy to find..go to pep-boys.
quality stuff is a bit harder, but most mfg make quality parts for v6's. stick/auto differences are overrated imho. i drove stick all my life. got the av6, it was auto, and it didn't bother me. i have another car as well though, so maybe that offsets the desire for stick. if stick/no stick is your big hang-up, why don't you look into an 03 accord?
PS. NICE FRIDGE

Well for example, how many miles does a whole tank of gas last you approx? What octane do you put in your ride? Do you do any work on your v6, is the limited space a factor and does it keeo you from doing work yourself? Parts, I was reffering to OEM parts, no ricey parts for me...lol Yeah, I see what you mean about the stick issue, I have a CRX that I am keeping which is stick, I am getting rid of my Integra which is stick though...
The reason I don't look into the 03 Accord as opposed to the 01-02 is about a $12,000 difference...
For the price the 03 v6 Accord is going for I might as well get an SUV or a luxury car. Again, thanks for your help.

hmm... 320miles at least.. whether 89 or 93.. depended on what my mood was. usually it ate 92/93.. probably around 23mpg... sometimes less than 20 if i was doing more city driving.
work on car..hmm... shop manual helped with everything. springs, shocks, rims, intake, exhaust, etc.etc...it's cake. the engine bay is FILLED with the v6. With the 4 cylinder, it looks like a civic hood.. lots of space all over the place. replacing simple things like headlight bulbs could be somewhat of a chore, but you learn to move stuff around, and it was pretty ok. hope that helps.
just my $.02, but if you think the accord is like an integra, or a crx, you'll be disappointed..it's much more refined, and more like a luxury cruiser. it's show, not go...although there are go-fast parts available. just remember...it's a heavy car.
hope that helps.

Yes, that helped a lot!
Yeah, I am getting rid of my Teg and making my CRX the fast car now, so I thought it was time for a relaxed cruiser with leather, sunroof, and the works! Ohhhhh, I have one more question, I hope I haven't been a pest.
Between the 4cyl EX and the v6 EX, what is the difference, is it just the engine? Or does the v6 EX have more options? thanks...

"LOL! Sorry man, I didn't mean to call your Accord a fridge, your ride looks sweet, got any closer pics?.. "
Dont worry about it..lol psst Psssst

The difference between the EX models of the 6 and 4 cylinders are that the 6 cyl models have TCS, climate control, front power seats (both), and 16" wheels. I'm pretty sure my EX 4 Cyl has 15" rims.
uh...no power seats on the passenger side btw ...
not that it really matters... people in the passenger seat never really cared... although in the winter, they did bitch about the seats being cold.
'03 has heated seats..if that's any issue.

I personally thinks that a sedan would be better off, not hating on the coupe but
it gets old after a while..letting ppl in and out
but the coupe have ALOT of space..headroom, leg room, big fat phat leather seat, even the back is pretty big and comfortable.
try that in a prelude..lol
my cousin just got one
