Default Guages for B's...

Ok with the B's going in at expo, I'd like to be able to watch my **** so I know when its about to blow I have a fuel pressure guage on the fuel filter and I am thinking of getting a oil pressure & temp guage to go in the car. Anything else I would need? What else do I need to hook up these guages? I'm getting all electronic senders so that is nice, but do i need to run a hose off the block to a T on the fire wall then run the two sensor on the fire wall instead of having a huge mass of sensors hanging on the block? Anybody know exactly what fittings & hoses I need to do this so I can have all the parts to install at once. Thanks for the help guys. Oh yeah here are the guages, these should work right?

Oil Temp

Do the ranges look ok?

Whatever you do, it's a good idea not to mount the T to the block.

get the fake CF face'd gauges to match the hype-r y0!

BTW, you want to buy for really cheap (like a few packs of cigs) my autometer gauge cluster bezel that holds two gauges? it's kinda shitty but at least it's not blocking your view on the apillar...

What size T do I need? What do I need to tap into the block for an oil? Also should I weld a bung in the oil pan and pull oil temp off of that?

Try looking in the F/I forum to see what they're doing.

I'm too lazy to think, it's almost lunch time.

don't forget the BOOST and NITROUS PRESSURE gauges. Of course carbon fiber or better yet, glow in the dark to match your indiglo gauge cluster

I will be mounting my oil pressure and oil temp gauge later on this week. Im using the "jdm stereo block off plate" but ill be keeping my stereo!!! ill be mounting the block off plate where the little compartment under the stereo is and where the ashtray and lighter are. It needs to be modified a bit to fit, but it looks nice, I'll post pics when done

Oil Pressure should be fine. Idle around 15-20psi, light load around 35-40pis and full throttle 75-80psi. Not sure about Temp. If you want to save some money and look stock as I did, try the Autometer Z-Series. Black face w/ Black trim ring and red needles. Cheapest and I like the stock look. Later.

I'll let you know if Assdime doesn't use it, but I think he will.

Oil pressure is not a function of throttle.

assnickel: yes weld a bung into the pan for oil temp.

Oh christ. Fine. Under 2,000rpm 15-20psi, 3-4,500 climbs to about 45-50 and after that stays steady at 75 up to about 80 by redline.

For what it's worth, I am not a fan of electronic oil pressure gauges. They do not have nearly the same sweep range, and they do not change as quick as mechanicals.

I had one in my prelude and it's been replaced with a greddy mechanical. Yes it's a bit more of a PITA, but worth it IMO.

Just my personal experience, please don't roast me.

Mechanical is far more accurate for sure. IMO a street car can get by with the more "simple" install of the electronic gauges, but for a race car I would never put an electronic gauge in it.

That said, if you want to invest the effort, go mechanical IMHO.

word, dont mount the t on the block because the combination of weight/vibration will crack the T eventually.

What do I need to tap into the block for an oil?
u can pull the stock oil pressure sender, and use a short line from teh block T it off and run one to the guage and the other back to the stock oil pressure sender. then u can tie strap the T out of the way

Agreed. For a street car, I would have to agree that electrical is a good call. (KISS!)
