4th gens are going cheaper nowadays.. and 5th gens are lil bit cheaper then they were.. since honda released new cars.. depends on how much he wants to spend.. and what he's looking for.. i.e. performance, daily driver, beater.. etc

why 94+?

1992-1996 are the 4th gens
1993-1996 are the vtecs
1992-1995 are OBD1 ('96 is OBD2)

5th gens 1997-2001

4th gens are easier to mod (more parts), lighter and IMHO I like the look of hte 4th gens better.

Try the paper (cars.com), autotrader, ebay and usedcars.com

They are not easy to find (at least in KS, MO, OK, CO/midwest)

how much lighter are teh 4th gens honestly? I've never seen two reports of them in stock form weighed... anyone with a 5th gen and 4th gen stock live near each other and a scale?

I think what mostly makes the 4th gen faster is the gearing of the VTEC. I think that helps make up most of the ~.3-~.5 second difference in stock trim
