Default kill switch from engine ground?

Is it possible to run a kill swith from the engine ground wire? Is it even a good idea?

I don't think it should be a problem... It will make it more easy to reset ur ECU if your CEL is on...

I dont know about this, like I'd think if you extended the ground wire any it wouldnt be good for the engine. I might just be speaking from out of my *** though so you know.

I tried it already, and I thought I did it wrong. My car didnt really want to turn over. Maybe if I used a different gauge wire. BUt I just decided to screw that kill switch and run one from somewhere else. I was just wondering if anyone else had done it also? Results?

If you use it off the ground, you might blow a fuse each time you turn the switch back on. My friend tried to set up an ECU reset switch but kept blowing the 7.5amp back-up fuse every time he turned the switch off then on again.

You would need one fat *** switch to handle the current that can run through the main ground cable. Plus, if the switch has to be inside the cabin, you would need to severely up the wire gauge to compensate for the extra length. Bad idea all around.
