How to mount AEM AFPR w/ JE intake?
Hey everyone,
My buddy and I were just installing his new Edelbrock intake and guess what? The AEM AFPR doesn't fit because of the shape of the new intake. We have the AEM fuel rail but that AFPR just won't fit so I was wondering if there are any of you out there who have been in this situation and what did you guys do to mount it? I was thinking of milling an aluminum adapter to fit on the top of the fuel rail and just raise it enough so that it clears the intake or can we mount it some how on the end of the fuel rail where there is a threaded plug?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
Rich

Whats not making it fit?? is the Nipple for the vacum line hitting?? if so. Unscrew all the allen screws and turn the top of the FPR till it clears, then screw it back together.. Not sure if this was your problem.. hope it helps..
I have just encountered the same thing, you cant fit the outlet hose right?
I decided that the easiest solution was to buy an adapter from the JR supercharger kit.
this adapter lifts and turns the FPR... you can get it from JR direct...

Hey man that might work have you done this before? It is the nipple that the return fuel line connects too that is hitting the intake. I'll have to take another look at it but that definitely sounds like it will work
Edit: just talked to my friend and he said he tried that but both ends are to long
and still hit. Gonna have to see if I can find that spacer.

I just ordered mine, so I havent actually done this yet, but I am 99% sure it will work.
BTW: it isnt listed on their site, you need to call them and ask for the FPR adapter mount-thing... and explain how it relocated the FPR, they should be able to figure it out...
Thats what I did... and its around $50 just so you know....

wait a minute, I need to back up for a second...
You are talking about an AEM fpr and a JG edelbrock IM right? I only ask because I just noticed your avatar... we're talking about a civic though right?

Yeah a '92 GSR civic w/ AEM AFPR and JG Edelbrock intake. We tried flipping the AFPR upside down but it still hits. I just e-mailed JR to see what they say.
Thanks man. I would think there would be more people with this problem but maybe there will be more ideas later today. Thanks for your help though.
well, I think that a lot of people relocate the FPR off of the rail.
and, you could always just go get an -AN elbow, (male -6 to female -6 90 degree)
then screw the nipple into that... probly cheaper, but I dont like having too many 90 deg. bends in my lines...

just as an update. I just got the JR adapter...
It looks perfect as a solution. I'll bolt it up tonite, and maybe try to get some pics for ya.

That's cool man. Pics would be awesome. I'm still gonna try and rig something up tonight and if your adapter works then we'll go ahead and order one.
well, heres the info.
In my case, this adapter works, but not as well as id hoped. For anyone using the factory gas tank, it would work perfectly.
In my situation, I had to flip the FPR upside down so that I could run my lines to the fuel cell... So when you look at these pics, think about yours being flipped 180 deg....
hope this helps.
