Default I need your HELP!!!! Please read and let me know what you think!!!

Hi, I have a 96 DX hatch with a 96 JDM b16a motor. Its obd2 also. My question is, what would cause my tach to stop working? I have a 2000 Si cluster. Today, I was driving and all of a sudden when I was idling it just stopped working. Everything else on the cluster worked fine though. It started working again, then stopped, then started. Hmm..... Can't think of anything that could be the problem. Its working now, but who knows for how long. I have a 50amp fuse in my ignition, under the hood in the fuse box. It calls for a 40amp but I had to use a 50amp for now till honda gets some more 40's. Reason I blew the fuse was that the wire for the city lights on my JDM headlights melted onto my header Any ideas guys why my tach could be acting up like this. I never had any problems with it till today and I put the 50amp fuse in the box yesterday. All the connections are good on the cluster and the speed sensor is working fine. Please help me out. And if a moderator sees this, can you please let me know when my trial user status will be over, I'd like to post more. Thanks.
BTW, I made a thread about this a while back and got next to no help, any ideas would be greatly appreciated

LOL.........Silence from the peanut gallery! I said I didnt get any useful info and I meant it. No offense, but your info was no bueno. JDM motors do come OBD2, what do you think CTR's and ITR's have? The cluster didnt come from a junkyard either, I got it from a friend that bought a spoon cluster.
Anyways, thx for trying to figure it out. Couldnt reply last time because I'm still limited to 5 posts per day.

Unless you "converted" it to OBD-II, the JDM motors do not have OBD-II natively.

Did you get that cluster from a junkyard? Because if you did, bad circuit board contacts (i.e. rusty) are a common cause of tachometer failure in cluster swaps.
I had to replace my circuit board for JUST the exact same problem.

We've given you several options to choose from: Bad ground, bad cluster, bad VSS, and bad (or loose) tach signal. You've given no indication that you've checked any of those. What exactly do you want?

JDM motors do come OBD2, what do you think CTR's and ITR's have?
More specifically, what I should have spelled out is that there are some significant wiring modifications you have to make to get an ITR or CTR fit into a 96-2001 Civic that those of us who have OBD-I Civics don't have to do. I have an inkling suspicion that the wiring modifications that must be made might have something to do with the tachometer problem.

The cluster didnt come from a junkyard either, I got it from a friend that bought a spoon cluster.
Didn't know that.

And that's pretty much the reason these threads are getting ignored. You aren't following up with responses.

Well sorry, its just as I stated before, I'm limited to only 5 posts per day. Speed sensor is good, cluster is good. Gonna take it to my brothers Honda dealership and have him analyze my problem.
