i started my car today and as soon as i shifted into second, the abs light came on...and stayed on. i turned the car off at the first light i came to and it came back on when i shifted or as soon as i started moving. when i got to my girls house, i lloked in the haynes manual and checked the code, which was 4-8, the book said that it was a SPEED SENSOR in the REAR LEFT.

my question is: where do i go from here?????

STUFF THAT MAY HELP: i recently did a swap---(auto to manual), last summer i replaced the rear brakes, and i have never had any problems until tonight.

Any help will be appriciated.

 

My ABS light comes on sometimes, i turn the car off and back on, and it goes away. I guess its some weird thing.

 

Your ABS sensor is easy to check. Take off your wheel and look on the back side of the hub. There will be two bolts holding a black cover and under that two more bolts holding the abs sensor. Make sure the abs ring is straight, because if it is loose or tilted, sometimes the sensor won't read right. Good luck.
