It is safe to spray on an auto. I have been spraying nitrous on my ss lude for about a year now with no problems. As far as the internals question it really depends on how much of a shot you want to run. You don't really need to upgrade your internals to run a 50-75 shot of nitrous. If you plan on going higher than a 75 shot then it is probably recommended that you upgrade the internals.

I've Heard its actually better to spray an auto, but I'm not speaking from experience.
Might want to think about upgrading your torque converter though

Yeah you may want to upgrade the tc if you got the extra cash. Personally I'd say screw trying to make the auto stronger and just do a manual tranny swap. If my auto tranny ever goes bad on me, I'm definently gonna do a manual swap.

auto to a manual swap is alot of money.i hear around like 6k. replacing the internals cost about 5k right? if it cost that much to replace the internals, why not go turbo? im thinking bout money wise between the two.

Ummm Ya, 6K is a little excessive.
Did they tell you to grab your ankles while reading you this quote?
One of my buddies got an auto/manual conversion on his Sol for around a G.

Tell whoever quoted you on that to get F***ed.
In my opinion, for straight line racing, just beef up your auto.

Don't know about the Del Sol, but I've heard several peeps on PO.com quote prices in the $3K+ range easy. The TC upgrade from Level 10 ain't exactly cheap either, and the actual work itself is very tricky and is going to cost you a bundle.

As fas as boosting the auto, you know it's going to cost far more total to turbo properly than it will be to strengthen the internals to run the nawwwwwz. Besides, I think the SS tranny will accept the occasional nitrous hit more than it's gonna like full-time constant boost. GirlNALude is sc'd and she says her SS tranny is falling apart under the strain so she's gonna have to swap it soon.

Stick to boostedsol's recommendation to stick to a safe shot, swap the plugs and have some fun.

its safe to spray on the auto if you hook up the nitrous right, what i did when my car use to be auto was wire in a momentary switch inline with the microswitch, that way the car wont be able to spray unless you are at WOT and have the button pushed down. you want to do this because you dont want to be spraying when you tranny shifts. since you are controlling it manually all you have to do is let the button go right before the shift and then press it down again after it shifts to spray again. same concept as manual cars spraying since they let go of the gas pedal while shifting, which would stop the nitrous from spraying until they slam on the pedal again after shifting.

It is recommended that you upgrade the tranny to make it stronger and able to withstand the added power that the nitrous will give you. This is recommended but not 100% necessarily needed to spray nitrous on your car. Many people including myslef are spraying on auto tranny's and don't have upgraded tc's. If you do plan on spraying more than a 75 shot definently upgrade your internals and your tc as well.

if you have the money, get a level 10 torque converter. lets you set a stall speed so your car will launch like a 5speed too. but labor is a lot of money.
