Default Overheating, I should say fan turning on too late on the H22. What to do next?

I have a 90 accord with an H22 jdm engine tranny and ecu. Last summer I started having a overheating problem. I started by changing the theromstat, rad, rad hoses. It helped a bit , the temp went up slower but still went up. I posted the question here and was advised to check to see if the water pump maybe leaking , by looking at the timing cover to see if there was residue there. Sure enough there was. I changed the water pump, timing belt, balance belt, tensior. Car ran fine and strong through the whole winter the temp needle sat fine did not move. The weather started to warm up this week and at idle The needle starts to rise. It rose to about 3/4 then the fan came on and went back down to normal. When I got the swap done the car ran a whole summer without the needle moving. What can cause the fan to come on late??? Long winded I know but this problem is getting ridiculous. Thanks for any advice.

maybe try the spoon thermostat that lowers the opening tempurature. that would trun em on earlier.

sounds like a wierd problem. test the coolant (jiffy lube will do it for free), see if you need to replace it. maybe mix it 60/40 with more water. that will only make it run cooler though, and might not solve the problem. the only other thing i can think of is if you have something blocking the coolant flow. did you switch the water pump w/ a vtec w/p??? that would certainly cause a difference. anyway, good luck, let us know if you figure it out...

id check the ECT sensors again... get a multimeter and check the OHMs of the terminals to see if the values are ok... (haynes manual)

also check if the wires have continuity and do not show any resistance... hot and cold...

you might have air in the water lines. This is what you do. While your car is cool. remove your radiator cap. Then turn on your car. if you see bubbles coming up from the radiator hole then you have unwanted air in your water system. Continue to leave your car running until you see no more bubbles.
I speak from experience. My needle started to act up going up and down in last summer until I did this.
