Default Which throttle body

Just picked up 2x jdm b18c motors for less than 1k all up...
But simple question...

Can my oversized throttle body on my b16a (2nd gen) work on the b18c intake manifold?

nope, japanese motors don't have numbers after the last letter...
even my b16a in my eg6 simply says b16a..

i live in new zealand...
funnily enough, there isn't that much demand for them here, and most people herearen't prepared to pay big money like u guys do...

it's easy enough to get front cuts over from japan providing you know the right people...
i can get
b16a 120,000 JPY
b16b for 250,000 JPY
b18c for 120,000 JPY
b18c r for erm, 500,000JPY+ thanks to you guys for pushing the price up lol...

stock b16 and b18 throttle bodies are the same. So your oversized b16 tb should work just fine on the new engine.

I could swear that the map sensor is mounted on the motor's side of the tb on the b16a, whereas its mounted on the firewall side of the tb on the b18 clamshell

blame the u.s. government, if we got some "phat whips" over here (stock) we wouln't need to be hooking up honda civics at ridiculous personal expense.

i can think of other things to blame the u.s government for these days lol...

even here, its getting harder and harder to bring in japanese imports.
used to be able to get basically anything from japan, now you can't register cars older than '96 due to some frontal impact bullshit...

still, that means the pre 96 cars are dirt cheap to buy and part out...
i've seen eg6's with some light mods sell in japan for less than 300,000 JPY, which from memory is about 1,800 USD.

i don't know if anyone else has done this but the throttle body off of a s2000 works as well. its bigger than those of the b series, but the only downfall is a slight whistle noise.

Assuming it actually is the same sound, for some reason just about every jdm type r i've ever been in had that whistling sound... always kinda wondered what it was...

I have a B18C TB on my B16, so it should go the other way, it'll bolt up anyway but I think you'll be missing an IACV.
Ps, sweet deal man, is that $1000 NZ?

nope... got a gsr tb sitting on the counter at home. The map sensor is on the top right corner. You might be thinking about the TPS which is on the left side towards the firewall.
