You know whats funny? I threw a pair away, They were really worn though. The foam inside the seat was fucked up, Like a rat had chewd it or something... If I find another set I'll keep you in mind though.

you can make crx seats work, but it requires making custom brackets (basically drilling two holes each in 4 pieces of steel). it's not easy and requires a lot of work to do right, but it is doable and crx si seats are much, much easier to find.

I think thats only if he was to use the previous gen si seats in his car, The 88-91 should be a direct bolt in. You see I made the mistake of getting the seats with the grey stripes, I was told I could mix and match my factory rails with the si rails which in my case was bull ****. The point being I got raped on my seats. I have since put a pair of 90-93 teg seats in (The ones with adjustable lumbar, lower back support, And an armrest on the drivers seat. The passenger has nothing muahaha). I got an ok deal on them, And all I had to do was drill new holes in the rails for the front 2 bolts. All in all I'm happy with them, I just wish they looked a little better. Oh well. Good luck.
i know for a fact that 4gen crx seats do not bolt into a 90-91 hb, but i'm having a hard time confirming that they won't bolt into an 89 hb.

damn, all i want are some seats that just bolt on without spending a lot of money.
Instead of making custom brackets, you could swap the metal pans on the bottoms of the seats. Then you wouldn't have to screw around with brackets at all

this doesn't work a lot of the time because the seat backs tend to bolt to the seat pan in different ways. for example, a 90 crx si seat back will NOT bolt onto a 90 civic si seat pan.

yup yup yup
everything serious has said in this post has been true cuz i went through the exact same thing putting crx si seats in my 91 hatch
as far as cheap, nice seats that will bolt right into your 89 hatch.... sorry they dont exist if you're not gonna make any custom brackets (yes it does take some work to get them right)
one optioin that might work would be 89 civic si seats. have fun finding em although i really couldnt guarantee that those will fit either
