I'm curious... blue Canadian 88 Civic Hatch

It's got DPFI, no passenger side mirror, no cigarette lighter, no rear wiper, it has sound deadening, adn black bumpers. So is it a DX or CX hatch? It had no rear badge either, but it does have a 5 speed tranny.
what is it?

Sounds like an STD hatch

 

DX's here in USA do have rear wiper and other stuff
in the USA we got that exact HB with all the stuff u mentioned, but with a 4 speed tranny, and they are the STD models

 

yeah, I could swear it's a CX hatch, but it has a 5 speed.... hrmmm.

 

yup that's a CX
canada didn't get any STD.. instead we have the CX which is basically a toned down DX, but same engine/tranny as DX... just no rear wiper, passenger side mirror, interior hatch cover... or cig lighter plug, unless they were ordered as options. i don't think it has sway bars either.

 

i didn't think DX's came with sway bars either...i thought just the si had them
and CX's don't come with radios do they?

 

Dx's came with a front sway bar only. dunno much about CDN civics but I know USDM had them. SI was the only one with a rear bar

Where's mine then??? My dx has color matched bumpers, Rear wiper, Dpfi, And cargo cover... I guess I can't complain, But I think maybe the sway bar was a suspension option, Because damn it I don't have one! Oh and my Hatch was made in Canada lol along with every damn thing else that I have ever owned that broke, Like my damn laptop, My car, And a modem... Canada loves to torture me...

 

I'm in Canada and I have an 88 CX 5-speed. It's an ex Honda Michelin Challenge Series car. We eventually got the std in Canada too, it was called simply "Civic", not "Civic CX"

 

That would explain why I have no rear badge. So I have a "civic" then, eh? Not a DX or a CX? Damn, I thought I had a DX

Yeah the car had no sway bars at all, but it did have sound deadening. I heard that the American STD models had none. This true? BTW I did put CRX suspension and sway bars on it (except for the back one...yet)

 

i have a canadien std which is as you described but with the 4 speed tranny so you do not have an std. what motor is in it?

oh i hadnt realized you had seen my car. i have "honda of canada" printed on a plate by the radiator so where is it from then?

 

If d15b2 is a dx then i have a dx thats a 4 speed. It must be the cx,std or whatever you wanna call it. Ive never seen a 4th gen with no passenger side mirrors. Mine's a 91 and it has one and its made in canada. Im pretty sure its the std
