Default Opinion's of the Autopower "race" rollbar....?

I did a search and really didn't find anything that helps me.

Anyone have pic's of it installed?

How was the fittment?

PITA to install? Reccomendations?

Best place to purchase from?

Any other options?

Thanks for any input!

I am commenting on 91civicsi's car, but I intalled it so I can speak freely about it.

1) Pic-Pic-Pic
2)Tiiiiight, with interior.
3)Quite possible the biggest. Leave interior out unless you have a lot of patients.
4)I think this is where Aaron got his from...ioport racing

You got pics of the mounting locations. I figure you just drill through the car. But I wanted to see and no one ever has pictures of that.

I ordered my street bar like a month ago, now that I think of it will probably be arriving soon.

Sorry, no mounting pics. You just drill 3 holes per mounting spot, put the backing plate on the other side of the floor/fenderwell and run the bolts through.

For chassis rigidity I don't think it did much of anything. What are your plans for the car? If you want it for autocrossing/road racing I would atleast get a 6pt. If you want it for drag racing I would wait until you get kicked out of a track for running too fast without a cage. If you want it for looks then have at it.

Hindsight is 20/20..if I had it to do again I would not put one in my car. Jeff's got too much effort/time/sweat/blood in mine to just go yanking it out though so it will stay forever.

edit: I forgot to mention that it is a superlative pain in the ****. I would rather replace 10 axles than install another roll bar in a car with full interior.

Default Bolt-in locations

Here is a pic of one of the mounting locations.

General pic:

That's an Autopower 4-pt bar. Unless I'm totally missing what an Autopower "race" bar is. If that's the case, please ignore pics.

i dont really like the roll bars, in either case if you flip the car over the front half of the car will scrunch down on your head, still killing you, i would much rather pay the money and get a roll cage installed that way you know that you are safe, i have seen the cages going for something like 627.00 before, i dont know what i can get it for

i agree with mattED6, a cage is a lit safer than a roll bar, but you do have to admitt, a roll bar would help, and could still save you, depending on what kinda accident you're in. Also, i've heard that cages arent really the best thing to have if the cars daily driven too.

its actually not that bad, its a pain if you have a race seat and the side bars, but other than that its all good
