venom intake manifold and iacv questions
i was wondering if any one out there is running a venom or str intake manifold. if so how did ya'll run the iacv so that the car will idle correctly. if any could basically tell me how the iacv works then maybe i might be able to figure out a alternative solution to this or if you have a better solution to be able to eleminate it all together. any and all help appreciated. the sooner the better my car is idling like ****.
You have to drill and tap a few holes to mount the factory iac valve to the venom manifold. I think the STR's have the holes already drilled out the box. What kind of ECU are you running? You don't absolutely have to have an iacv to get the car to idle right. If you have a standalone ecu, there should be some idle features that let you adjust for the lack of one. I'm not running one on my car right now, and to compensate i just have my idle set a little higher at 1000rpm.
as of right now I am running the stock p28 I just finish doing a fully built motor and I am still breaking it in. I was just wondering if there was a solution for the problem during break in. After break I have a AEM standalone unit that I am going to run in my car. I guess if there is no quick solution I will have to deal with it for the time being.
thanks though for the info.
