Wiring diagram of VSS
Do anyone know the wire diagram of the S2K VSS?
D0es anyone have a pic of the sensor? Trying to compare the S2k VSS to the B-series VSS.
Thanks for the help.

if anyone has this info PLEASE POST IT! i know a few of you have the helms manuals... PLEASE SCAN AND POST the electical section that talks about the vss and also the wire diagram for the cluster. PLEASE thanks.

it's been done... a shop near my house by the name of autothority had it done in their integra a couple of years ago.... they mainly work on vw's and porshes but you might be able to find this integra in a magazine somewhere... http://www.autothority.com/

do you think you could ask them about it? i'm really trying to get this done. thanks. i just looked at the page and their magazine features don't show a teg withan s2000 cluster. where is it?

ummm.. i'll roll up there sometime next week and ask them.. unfortunently the girl that had it done to her car doesn't work there anymore..... i might be mistaken tho. but i'll go check it out for you... it's only like 5 minutes from my house...
here..... http://www.autothority.com/mag...1.htm
that shows the car and explains it.. unfortunenlty it doesn't mention anything about the guage cluster.... i know i saw it with the digital cluster... but maybe they did that modification after the publishing of this magazine...

i did a little research on it a couple months back, seems that nobody has been able to make the speedometer work due to the fact that it takes a signal from the ecu to make it work. the vss sends the signal to the ecu that all the rest of the honda world is used to, and the ecu sends a different one to the cluster, possibly in digital form.
what exactly do you need from the wiring diagram? The ECU halves the signal (not sure if it's the voltage or the pulses of the VSS) for the cluster to display the info. The s2000 cluster controls many of the functions in the s2000, like the dimmer of the lights inside the car, the EPS, etc etc etc
hmmm, if it halves it, that should be no problem to make up a circuit to fix a signal from a regular old VSS.
you are the first person to say anything remotely helpful about the signal to the cluster.

to be specific, i need to know what kind of signal and at what amplitude is the cluster looking for? i figured it would be a different type of signal than what the b-series vss is sending out, but i do not know what signal the cluster needs to start working. what kind of signal does the ecu send out and also, at what amplitude?

that is exactly what i'm trying to do. figure out what is needed and create the circuit to be place in series to the existing electronics. i have a formal background in electronics so i feel pretty confident that when i get the right info, i can make something happen.

i agree, i've been searching all over H-T and all over the internet looking for info and this is the first piece of NEW info that i've gotten in like 2 weeks.

sorry but I don't have info on the pulse width of the VSS according to speed. I needed to figure it out for my new cluster but figured it wasn't important to know speed on the track.
You could easily find out the info by measuring the signal with some device over various speeds to figure out the speed pulse and create the converter from there.

i hear what ur saying, but the only thing is that i don't have an s2000 to drive around and take these measurements. that's why i'm asking for those pages from the shop manual to be scanned and posted. they should tell you where the signal goes after it leaves the VSS all the way til it reaches the cluster. it should also tell you what kind of signal and at what amplitude. i have a multimeter to measure whatever i need to measure, but i don't have the s2000 to make my measurements.

I'll check to see what it is, I think it's 0v-5v at the sensor to ecu, then it should be halved from the ecu to the cluster. I'll double check on the voltage but I'm almost sure it's a 0-5v signal from the sensor.
