Default Anyone had their rear tires wear out first?

My rear tires are pretty much bald but my fronts have about 1500 miles left on them. It just seemed odd for a front wheel drive car.

depends on your driving style/patterns and alignment settings mostly.

my rears have less tread than my fronts.

Do a lot of drifting?

Actually, I believe that a lot of rear toe will cause them to wear faster than the front.

Toe-out, primarily. I know of people who run toe-out on the rear to help with rotation, but it does cause the tire to wear a little faster in regular street driving. A small amount of toe-in, on the other hand, is frequently recommended by manufacturers to REDUCE tire wear. I would expect too much toe-in to cause tire wear as well, but that would be an unusual setup.

Caveat: I don't have personal experience with this, this is just what I've heard from others who should know.

My Toyo's on my TE's wore out in the rear first. Ofcourse that was because I left the rear ones on for a whole year, and the front on for only half....

Makes sense. I have zero toe in rear and I noticed a more rapid wearing. It wasn't noticeably, definitely not alarming though. I can't imaging toe out in rear, my car already wants to whip around too much with zero toe/23mm sway.

Is your car lowered?

This may be the cause of the irregular tread wear.

Thanks for all the replies. I think it might have been some neglect on my part as far as rotating them. It's just hard when doing so much cross country driving and being in new cities. Anyways, thanks, and just thought I'd let you all know I went with the S-03s.
