Default EXPO CARAVAN from FL - time for final planning

With less than a month to go, it's time to do the final planning for any caravans starting in Florida. Is anybody currently organizing one?

I've heard that Dave is planning the We-Todd one. Is everyone else still invited to hitch a ride on that one or are the We-Todds going alone?

If the We-Todd caravan is no longer THE one coming from FL, I'll be happy to organize another one for us "normal" peeps. Just need to know what's happenin'.

the "normal" people can follow us if they want. But I doubt most will want to take our not-very-time-efficient path..

Well, I personally have no problem with that, having already set aside the extra day. In fact, the "spend Thursday at Willard's working on cars" part sounds pretty good to me since I need to do my clutch pretty soon. I was planning to do it before the trip, but having more experienced people around to help/advise while I'm doing it is pretty appealing.

I don't know how that would fit into y'alls plans, though. Also, I recall there being some concern about overburdening Willards facilities if the whole FL crew were to stay there, which is understandable.

Like I said way back in the first FL caravan thread, I don't care if I go with the We-Todds or with the "normals", I just don't want to make the whole trip by myself. So how about if the rest of the FL peeps chime in and let us know what you're planning.

here's the We-Todd plan for those to decide if they want to follow.

Tuesday night: Meet at Marc's.
Wednesday early early AM: Leave for Will's. At night, Karaoke in Charlotte and some "light" drinking..
Thursday: whatever, but not much party-time. sleep = early.
Friday really really really early, like 4am: leave for Beaver Run.

The wetodds HAVE to be at beaver run friday morning-EARLY afternoon.

what route are you fools taking? going up 95 to Philly area?
If so, perhaps we can hook up w/ the caravan at a rest stop or something. I know there are a few R's in this area that will be heading out friday.

Ok, NEW WTDR caravan plans are as follows:

Tuesday: Meet at RealHype-R's

Wednesday morning - evening: Leave (before morning rushhour) to P1 Automotive. Here we can leave some cars (behind a locked fence) if people want. That night we will burn down a bar that Yack suggests with a local band playing and burn down ChuckyT's Kareoke. I will avoid drinking (much) to be a DD if needed.

Wednesday night: Crash whereever we find space, Will's can hold the following: D, Asspenny, RealTypeR, Cosworth (not really FL but..), ppihctyper, ArmyGreenEG, The Mole, myself. Also allowed are any chicks coming with the mentioned parties (or any other chicks for that matter). Anyone else will have to find a hotel or something at this stage.

Thursday: we can go back to the shop, Yack and company can probably work on your car for some $$ (have NOT asked yack about this, forgot to, so I'll let him confirm/deny that. The "more-free-money-wise" we-todd's will be installing a FD the same week at expo so we might give pointers and such but I'm sorry to say that we wont feel like installing anything except assdime's cams (less work, easier to drink beer at the same time).

Very early Friday AM (3-4am): Leave for beaver run. Arrive early afternoon.

The path taken will not be interstate routes for the most part. We get bored with interstates so we will detour whenever we get bored and enjoy the country.

edit: missed some names.

yeah, if we leave my house around 8 am or so, we can avoid the Jacksonville 9 am rush and be rolling through there around 10:30 or so. We'll pick up Cassie, Andrew & Luke on the way there. Luke will have to meet us in Jax seeing as though he's on 75 and we're rollin' d33p on 95.

Why the ***** do we have to leave so early on Friday morning? Why not leave at a reasonable time like 8 am and arrive early evening? What is it like 8 hours from Will's? By the time those of us who actually want a shower get showed at Will's, we'll probably roll out 2 hours later than we state anyway though.

I think I'll wait to hear from some other FL people before I decide for sure when I'm going.

Out of curiosity, though, were you guys planning to do Craig's cams at Yack's? Hey Yack, any chance I could borrow a little floor space to do my clutch? I'll buy ya some

Marc: Because, like I said, we have to be at beaverrun EARLY friday afternoon. That does not mean 4pm. Will and myself need to help trey and I think do something else relating to tech sessions or something, but either way, we need to be there as soon as possible friday.

so leave at 4am, get up at 1-2am, mean bed crazy early. I figure we should stay up all wednesday night with some strippers or something, crash at noon, sleep till midnight, get ready and leave

Yup.

Charlotte = crazy town.

For those planning on crashing out... keep is small and safe. If others need close hotel info I can get that.

you're saying you'd rather drink red bull and pop stackers than spend all night wednesday with strippers?

it is a 8-10 hour drive, I don't want us to die, bieng awake is good. hell if we had a place to crash in Ohio (ed's mother's house? ) I'll say leave thursday sometime.
