DIY trunk brace problem, help
so i got around to doing the trunk brace bar on my sedan today got the bar the hardware and everything. cut the bar to length, drilled the holes. then my friend took out the existing bolts while i was doing something else and when i went to mount the bar the bolts wouldnt go in all the way, not even the factory ones. it kinda seem like its being crossthreaded but no matter how many times i try it will never go in right. im wonderin what could be causin this, how can it be fixed, and is there any danger in drivin my car with these bolts not all the way in? any help is very very appreciated, thanks.
That sounds weird. Ive taken mine out plenty of times and nothings happend. Although I did read once that your not suppose to take them both out at once.. only do one at a time. Thats what i do. when you look down the holes does it look like its uneven? almost crooked? Just try to make sure the trunks lined up with the holes..
You just have to re-align the holes in the trunk to where the threads are on the frame. . Im guessing its probably a pain in the *** but you should be able to do it.
