I'm thinking about trading in my 03 maxima SE and getting a 03 Si. I miss the Honda's I've only owned the car for 5-6 months and only has 1,630 miles on her. I had put $5,000 down when I bought it and my loan for the car is for 5yrs. You think I'll get a good deal on trade-in nor do you think it's a good idea??? I know i'm gonna lose out on some money I just don't want to lose alot. Your opinions will be appreciated. Thanks.

 

You're going to take a beating trading in a current MY car with 1600 miles on it.

 

lemme get this straight, you want to trade in your brand new, 14 second maxima for a high 15 second honda, not to mention after all the money you owe on the maxima carrys over to the civics loan, youll be paying just as much if not more than you are for the maxima currenty. VERY stupid idea IMO.

 

The Si is a great car, but it sounds like a really bad idea to turn around and lose THAT much money on the Maxima. You will take a beating on it no matter what.

But, if you love Hondas that much then I guess go for it.

 

Thanks for all your opinions. I appreciate them. I though about it also all day today to see if it was really worth it. Conclusion,maxima is gonna be kept. Although I do miss owning a honda sometimes . I'll probally save up and buy a hatch or crx and do a project.*MAYBE* Thanks again for your opinions.

 

Not what I would do, but here's a suggestion. Sell the maxima to another person and have them finish off the payments.

 

Thanks for the suggestion Eddie HatchBlack. I fanything i'd sell it for $6,000 just to get my downpayment back then have them finish off the payments in their name. Might be hard to do. "Think so???"

You'd essentially be selling them a used car for what you paid for it new, minus a couple months' payments.

 

Exactly. It wouldn't be difficult to sell it for a couple thousand plus payments. But for sure expect to lose a couple thousand.
