Default b18b bottom end in b18c??????

ok this may be a dumb question but im going to ask it any way, can you use the b18b bottm end in a b18c to acheive the displacement of ls/vtec because its chaging the r/s ratio but it still has the oil feed and the head and all of the essentials for the ls/vtec motor..i would only do this to keep some reliability and maybe save some trouble but i dont know how this well (if at all) this will work???? the only dumb question is one that isnt asked ...and yes i would change the pistons too.
but ya thanx guys for all of the help

what do you mean, if your asking if u can use a b18b block w/a b18c head, of course you can. That is an LS/VTEC. You can use any B series VTEC head on a LS block, some machine work just has to be done.

naa what im asking is can i use the ls crank and rods in a gsr motor to acheive the dsplacement of ls/vtec? because the r/s ratio is diff. so would this work becuse then you could have the power of ls/vtec but also you will remain some what of the stock reliability of a gsr...i havent heard about anyone doing this so i thougt that i would ask you guys...and fr the record i know what ls/vtec is hw and what needsto be done to do it properly but thanx man, just a little confusion (my fault, not too clear) but htanx anyways

No you can't use the LS internals in a GSR block. Reason is deck height. I believe that there is a very minor size difference (but not sure) One is taller than the other I believe??

I'm sure you could if you have the block machined. Also, The cranks have different journal sizes. One has bigger journals.

I have an LS block with GSR internals. Worked fine with some machining from JG.

I know that is going the complete opposite way from what you want, but just saying that I'm sure it's possible with some work. Not just a drop in.

Actually it can be done, deck height should be the same. Check in the tech forum or search on it, I've seen several people discuss it lately.
