Default OEM FUEL FILTER REMOVAL...HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok guys i know this should be simple but you would never imagine how difficult it is to get this bastard off. the nut on the end of the fuel line that screws into the bottom of the fuel filter will not, and i repeat WILL NOT, break loose. i cant figure this thing out. i have sprayed wd40 on it and nothing helps. i even started to strip the nut out so i just stopped what i was doing before i did more damage than repairs. can anyone help me out? please for the love of god help me.

just make sure that you use an open ended wrench and penetrating oil and you should be ok. the same thing happened to me. dont forget to watch you hands when the bolt loosens

yeah used open end 3/4 wrench on fuel filter and 14mm open end on nut on fuel line. i used wd-40 on it but is there something better i should use? i just hope i dont strip it out anymore, otherwise i will probably have to replace that whole section of the fuel line.

You gotta man handle it. I had the same problem. But keep trying, it'll eventually come off.

you should try to get yourself a long hollow pipe and place one end on the wrench for some leverage...does wonders for me...

leverage

If you dont have a pipe or a breaker bar. Then try putting a larger socket on the end or the ratchet the more leverage the better

good luck

I'm assuming it's a 96-00 Civic since you said the line on the bottom.

Looking from the TOP OF THE CAR, you would have to wrench it clockwise, yes, CLOCKWISE. From under the car ( ), then it'd be counterclockwise. Everyone has problems with this darn filter,
