Well after buying a 2nd daily driver in January (02 EP Si) and hiding my R from the outside nonsense that lerks around. I finally decided to take out the R for a drive today. WOW!! It's just like driving it for the first time all over again. After a while, from not driving it, you get used to the other car you have been driving, so it was awesome to get back in it and have a blast!

on a side note however, i feel you on falling in love with your car all over again. i daily drove my wife's stock EF for a couple weeks while she had my EK and on the weekends when I got to drive th EK it was like driving it for the first time again and again... oh man...

 

Seriously, I made a comment regarding my 4900th post and BAM, look at it now, LOL!

I want it reset again, but I'm scared if I tempt the mods, they'll take away my avatar again.

After just one night of driving my girlfriend's Jetta my car feels like a go-kart. No wonder she's always itching to get my keys.

I drive a beater of 94 Tercel for this long hard Winter from nov.02 to now and this
past weekend warmed up, I clean and took the R out and all I can say is
"What a feeling and its not a Toyota, its an R!"

 

Same boat here. I dragged mine out from hibernation on Friday afternoon.

I get that same feeling whenever I get the chance to drive an "R".

 

I know exactly what you mean. I just got an '03 Civic EX as a company car this week and didn't drive the R til the weekend. And I'm used to driving it every day. I was looking for errands to run on Sun when the weather was so nice.

Oh well, time to hop in the Civic and head to work, while I daydream about being on track in my R.

 

I don't have a type R but anything is better than my wife's automatic 94 Accord LX.

 

my r was in a body shop for a month after someone ran a red light and mashed up the front end. i was lucky enough to drive a rental base-model mitsubishi galant (auto, no-abs, 40hp, air ride suspension, etc) during the repairs. i very much enjoyed getting my car back!

I know exactly waht you are talking about. I had to drive to Ithaca, NY this weekend for some family business and we took my girlfriend's 1998 Dodge Neon R/T. After driving that thing for 800 miles this weekend, getting in my R this morning was awesome. Made the drive to work very quick

 

Ah yes, now if I could only reset my mileage in a similar fashion

Victor, frankly, when I lived with you I thought I walked in on some intimate moments with you and your car. This just confirms it. George, do whatever is in your power to keep him and the R away from each other. People should not hump cars.
