mig weld???tig weld???
can anyone tell me what the difference is between the mig comptech header and tig comptech header....there is like a fifty dollar price difference...thanks
Heres the difference between MIG and TIG welding as I understand it
Tig Welding: Gas tungsten arc welding and usually provides a cleaner and stronger weld.
Mig Welding: Gas Metal arc welding, which is cheaper, has a weaker weld and provides a rougher looking weld. Best prices that I have found are $385 for the MIG and $476 for the TIG
Regarding the Comptech Headers, both perform equally well and the difference is mainly cosmetic. I'm currently in the market for a Comptech and have decided to go with the MIG welded version. Also, I've found the TIG to be about $75-$150 more.

so the difference between TIG and MIG welding is purely cosmetic as far as the comptech headers? or will the TIG welds be more durable in the long run as far as exhaust leaks throught the welds?

As they said, tig is a cleaner weld.
Tig is mainly used for companies that do alumminnum(sp?), but if they already have the tig machine, (they cost alot more then mig machines) then they will take advantage of it.
