ECU question
What effect would installing a USDM 91 Civic SI ECU into a 91 DX sedan w/AT??? Also, if I was to get the intake manifold and ecu swapped from that vehicle, what things should I get careful and/or watch out for?
search for "mpfi swap" you find a ton of info about this.
you can't swap out the ECU without swapping the intake mani, injectors, injector resistor box, and distributor.
but if you do swap it all it makes a huge difference in power!!!
make sure the donor car you're getting the parts from is an automatic as well unless you want to swap a 5-speed in your car at the same time. the 88-91 Civic EX 4-door has the same engine as the Si, you'll probably have better luck finding one of those in an auto.

The reason I'm askin this is my next door neighbor's got a 91 civic Si hatch that he wants to sell me for $500. Its got a blown motor, but all the parts to switch my DX to mpfi are available off it, so I was kicking around the idea of saving for a B swap into the hatch and swapping the manifold and ecu into my sedan for kicks. Would the manual ecu/manifold be problematic in an auto? I'm just kinda scratchin my head here....
